A refugee from a small clan torn apart by beasts, Amalric arrived at the edge of Sable grounds nearly on death's doorstep. He was quickly taken to the clan physician and nursed back to health. To repay the clan responsible for saving his life, he has take it upon himself to tend to and educate the clan's young.

Since his arrival, he has been slow to trust the vast majority of his new clanmates, and even slower to open up to them. It is possible that his reluctance to trust anyone else is related to injuries he sustained to his gem, rendering it difficult for him to sense intentions of others, and as such he elects to keep to himself. The exception to this is his small fae assistant, Polina, whom he spends a great deal of time with. Nevertheless, he seems intent on staying and assisting the Sable dragons for as long as they need him.

Aside from the aforementioned damage to his gem, he was left permanently crippled by the attack on his former clan. His injuries cost him his back left leg and a small chunk of his left wing. He gets around just fine on his own despite this, and doesn't seem to let it slow him down at all. He considers himself lucky that he was found by a clan with such talented healers.
