Morally Dubious | Obsessive curiosity | Twice voted most likely to create an Emperor
From the moment he hatched, Tethys knew he was different. Born into a lair that was infested with toxins and born to parents who valued survival over anything else, the little hatching with an intensive need to Know and Understand had a very slim chance of survival.
Tethys was constantly getting himself into trouble; exploring outside of the clans usual hunting grounds, trips to collect samples from the Wyrmwound, and on purpose getting infected at least five times with deadly viruses all made up Tethys' adolescence. His wings are covered in strange patterns and colors due to his self-experimentation, the constant presence of bandages from his latest mishaps and the deep grooves carved into his scales from acid spills, are all testaments to the Skydancer's insatiable curiosity.
After one such rogue experiment that left the novice chemist barren and unable to sire a clutch of eggs, the clan had decided that Tethys' usefulness had outlived the troubles he had put them through. No amount of antivenom and healing remedies could possibly make up for that fact that Tethys was an evolutionary dead end. Without the ability to breed, his line would end with him, and to a clan so focused on their own survival, they couldn't expend resources on him.
Chased from the only home he knew, Tethys was banished. Forced to flee or become prey for the survivalists of the land. Tethys flew for days on end without rest or food, farther than ever thought possible. Over molted and oozing land, over a sea that seemed to never end and even over part of a desert before the heat of the sun finally did him in. As he laid there; scales brittle, feathers dry and falling out, mouth feeling like he has tried to swallow the land around him... An angel appeared before him.
