Biography

Mateo is the son of two mages so powerful they are sometimes considered gods in the making. Unfortunately, Mateo did not inherit his father's patience nor his mother's wisdom; instead, he is cursed with a boiling and growing rage which at times consumes him whole. This particularity make him a dangerous and unpleasant individual who became an outcast early on in life. While he is aware of how quick-tempered an violent he is, Mateo has little to no control over his anger and has long learned to isolate himself as to avoid any accidents he would later come to regret. The most efficient way he's found to regulate his rage is through hunting and long night walks under a starry sky. Admittedly, the main reason Mateo was accepted in the clan is that while he wasn't born here himself, his father was and he had been held in great respect before leaving. He was held dearly in the memory of those that had known him and they felt that they owed to take in his troubled offspring. Mateo has a misunderstood love for birds, especially the largest and most aggressive ones, which he relentlessly tries to befriend. He usually shows them more patience and kindness than he would to his peers. In fact, the clan suspected him of being mute before they caught him talking to his Roc familiar which frequently terrorizes any hatchling around. Surprisingly, his charge is not one of those incredibly large birds like everyone would've believed, but a small friendly cat affectionately named Paw. Mateo is incredibly protective of him and is known to be easier to interact with when Paw is in a good mood. Regardless, Mateo remains antisocial and it is best not to mess with him. |
