Zuelim was separated from his family during an unseasonal flash-flood. It was probably only his breed's natural swimming ability that saved him. When the storm passed and dawn broke, he lay on distant and unfamiliar shores. The unknown stretched before him like a canvas, waiting to be filled. Zuelim spent the rest of his hatchling days wandering about the coast of the unfamiliar land and living off what ever he could find in the tides. Once he was a week old he became very interested in the forest beyond the shore. He had seen forests before; he still remembers his birthplace in the Viridian Labyrinth. But this forest was unlike anything he had ever seen. It was mystical and filled with tall thin trees that bore glowing flowers of sky blue. He ventured closer and closer to the mystical forest until he found himself deep within it. He decided to stay and make his new home here. For the next few days he explored the forest's depths, bewildered by its beauty. "Hey! What are you doing here without a spotter?" said a guardian in a gruff voice with a sense of sterness. Zuelim stopped and turned to face the dragon. A large black dragon stood before him and began to pull him by the wrist. Zuelim obeyed out of fear of this stranger. "The names Hades," he said, "I don't why the hell you're out here alone, but I've been ordered to escort anyone I find here. You got a name?" "Z-Zuelim," he said half paying attention. Once they arrived at their destination, Hades dropped him and trudged off into the lair. Zuelim was immediately greeted by the clan leader, Skyfall. "Oh! Are you new here? Whats your name?" "Zuelim" he replied. "Welcome Zuelim, to our clan!" Zuelim told her how he got here and she told him that he was welcome to stay and he could inquire for a job to make some treasure. Zuelim tried his hand at painting, but unfortunately due to his large size, he spread more paint on the walls and floor than on this canvas. He attempted joining the clan's warriors, but soon discovered that war and battle was too violent and chaotic for him. He even tried being a hatchling caretaker but he spent too much time daydreaming and not paying attention. After so much failure, he thought long and hard about what he was truly meant to do. Remembering his roots, he knew that he had always been a great swimmer. Without this ability he wouldn't be alive. He offered to become a fisher and help find food for the Coatls and Ridgebacks of the clan. Zuelim became an ace fisher and was given a set of shiny armor. Zuelim was excellent at noodling, a form of fishing where one will swim underwater and use themselves as bait. Before the prey can get a hold of him he snatches them away or uses his spear. Zuelim also found a companion, a Venomous Toridae named Kemu, for his fishing missions. The two became best of friends and help each other whenever possible. Now when Zuelim isn't fishing, he spends most of his time painting the bay on the Starwood Strand where he has all the room to move and stretch his wings. He occasionally gawks at females in the clan such as Midnight and Velvet. He often delivers freshly caught seafood to Drope, a lonely Rigdeback in the clan. He hopes to have a mate of his own one day. |
