Anno was born during what is known as the 'Forgotten Year', an astrological anomaly that extended the Years of Shadow by one. Arcane dragons have foreseen that the event will only happen once every four Eras, and so the dragons born during that time are considered unique in many ways. Ever since Anno was a hatchling, he has been surrounded by teachers, historians, magicians, and elders, recording his life and testing his abilities. As he grew to adulthood, he found the ever-present expectations and responsibilities too much for him to handle. He decided to run away in the night, taking a vow of Silence so that his life could never again be controlled by others.

He has since come to the Silence Clan, where he found the peace and quiet a good change of pace. For the time being, Anno spends his time, not by being a prodigy child, but instead by recording the events of history as they go by. Learning their trade, he has himself become a historian and is much fonder of writing down history than making it. The Clan is very satisfied with his work, as he is an impeccable writer - a side-effect of writing being his only medium of communication.
