At first, Grohm was a hot-tempered, childish drake with a penchant for starting unnecessary fights. He was good at stating what was on his mind, much like his mother, and it got him in trouble. It left him with a missing chunk of flesh on his snout. However, despite his behavior, Grohm really was devoted to the clan and cared about its well being. Seeing as his mother is the leader of the clan, all his acting out was simply him trying to earn her approval. Nothing worked.

After a while though, Grohm learned to put his love for fighting to good use. He became leader of the Clan Guardians, not as in the species but as in the position. He set up four main guardians, himself being the night watch, and together they patrol around the lair edges protecting it from various threats. He also leads the training program with his sister Yura. It was decreed a while ago that every dragon in the lair must learn how to fight, and he took up the responsibility of teaching them. Over the years, he's become a responsible dragon and has evolved his genes to match his strengths.

His real moment came when Skath took over the lair. Despite the starvation, the overwhelming odds, the weakening magics, and the low morale, Grohm put together the rebellion and fought their reign. He protected as much as he could and in the process earned the respect of the nest guardian Mish. Grohm did everything in his power to make sure Mish could rest while he took a shift protecting the eggs, and slowly they became very close.By the time Rohkii finally escaped from her cage, she was very proud of what her son had accomplished, and now she acknowledges him and dubbed him Commander.

As the young new Calamor entered the lair, everyone expected her to take to Breyz, being the Nest Mother and all, but she surprised the clan when she instead waddled her way over to Grohm. Being the big brute that he is, Grohm's never had trouble admitting he's no good with children and never thought about raising one. Calamor didn't give him that option. The small Skydancer babe tailed him like a little duckling, and the blue Guardian came to adore her and accept her as his adopted daughter. Though beautiful and delicate, Grohm still teaches Calamor to be strong and stand up for herself.
"Any threat to this clan is my enemy, and I will hunt them down."

With Grohm's tough personality, he's always needed a familiar that could take his roughhousing. Even as a dragonlet, Grohm was apt to crushing a few saplings when he played. Now as Commander Guardian, he needed a strong willed companion more than ever. Hagiir was once his familiar a year or so ago, but at the time, Grohm was still childish and Hagiir had no respect for him. But that was a long time ago, and this now matured drake has proven to the entire lair that he deserves honor and respect. Much to the Guardian's joy, Hagiir too acknowledged his improvement and was in fact honored to take the position as familiar.
