Fukkatsu Jpn: Resurrection
A demon born of ice, Fukkatsu, the Frozen Terror, was a fearsome dragon who terrorized the lands bringing mass destruction the likes of which hadn't been seen since the last attack from Shade. The great dragon was monstrous in size, casting a shadow that could emulate night as he flew through the sky. No matter how hard any dragon tried, none could take down the demon born upon the frost ridden mountains of the Southern Icefield. Not even the hottest flame from a fire dragon could melt his glacial body, leading many to fear this would be the end of all dragon-kind upon Sorneith. In a last effort to take down the threat that loomed over their world, a number of clans got together, including the dragons of the Twilight Clan, to pull off an all out attack in hopes of vanquishing the great leviathan. Led by one of the great Imperials of the Sunbeam Ruins, the numerous clans charged into a ferocious battle. The war against the Frozen Terror had many casualties, though it was agreed their lives weren't lost in vain as they died fighting as opposed to simply letting the great dragon annihilate them. Mizuho, Seiki, and Snow did their best to heal their allies, staying back away from the fighting as they went around tending to the wounded. Even Shikyo came from hiding and joined the fight, though many were unsure how they felt about her helping herself to the fallen warriors. Nearly a month after the battle began, Fukkatsu collapsed with a loud crash; when the dust settled, it was clear he was dead. The rejoice of the victorious fighters was interrupted however when the sound of rustling within the carcass was heard. Fearing the worst, the dragons took position to strike again. Slowly, the head of the dragon split open and a small baby Nocturne bearing his colors popped out. Deep in their hearts they knew what the scryers of the Starfall Isles only confirmed, the baby was Fukkatsu reborn much like a phoenix. To prevent the evil from striking again, one of the warriors stepped forth, volunteering to be the one to slay the child. However, Mizuho stopped him. Her nurturing nature striking yet again, she asked to spare the child's life. Everyone else knew what he would grow into, yet Mizuho couldn't stand the thought of watching an innocent child be killed. An idea came to Daiki that could settle things. As a child, the leviathan was harmless, so he used his magic to freeze it's body in time, making it immune to the effects of aging, condemned to be a child forevermore. The other clans were uneasy, but in the end allowed Mizuho to care after the child. |
