Mykiss

TL Mykiss (latin – ‘rainbow fish’) - progeny: none currently, one further descendant.

Clan Role – Materials Keeper, Lore Seeker of trinket knowledge and Offensive Mage in Dagorlad’s Combat Sqaud.

Mate – None. Mykiss has had several different mates, however all have paired with her at clan ruler Morgul’s orders rather than any preference for the quirky fae’s company. Her eccentric ways, chaotic magical abilities and obsession over hoarding trinkets quickly drive anyone trying to spend time with her away. She has not had a clutch in a long time and as she is so busy with her hoard of knick knacks the thought of finding another mate doesn’t even cross her mind.

Family – Mykiss has one very distant great grandchild still within the clan, Aceros. While he, like all dragons, finds spending significant amounts of time with Mykiss difficult, both dragons are fond of each other and Mykiss will often stop by to visit him for brief but frequent catch ups to see how he’s getting on.

Bio – Mykiss is a bit of a mystery in the SaF clan, but she has been a member for so long everyone is, if not friendly then at least tolerant of her bizarre mannerisms and habits. She was given to the clan as a hatchling as a gesture of goodwill from a prominent water clan, as she showed great promise in magical abilities and Morgul was looking to cement ties with neighbouring clans in the Sea of a Thousand Currents. As she is element-born, she has no parents and the SaF clan adhere to the commonly held belief on Sornieth that such dragons are manifestations of pure elemental energy, thus giving them their strong magical abilities. Mykiss did indeed turn out to be a powerful sorcerer, but while she was growing there was a lack of other magically gifted dragons in the SaF clan to help guide and shape her abilities. This makes her an unpredictable spell weaver, but her sheer raw power still lead the Combat Captain of the only offensive mage squad in the clan, Dagorlad, to recruit her. Mykiss has never actively studied magic and all of her attack power comes from her emotions, often in barely controlled bursts. She has no desire to study the energies that flow through her or to try and master her abilities, much to the frustration of the Lore Seekers of Magic in the clan.
There is not much call for the offensive mage squad to fight; which gives Mykiss lots of time for other duties in the clan. While she is a talented scholar she rejected offers to become a Lore Seeker of Magic when the clan gained experienced magic users to help guide her. Instead she became a Lore Seeker of Trinkets, which encompasses all things in the clan’s hoard that are not familiars and cannot be consumed or worn. Mykiss, as the only dragon to show interest let alone aptitude for this task, was duly appointed as the head of the clan’s material and trinket stores, and woe betide anyone that interferes with them! She has an incredible memory for all the things within the clan’s stores and is constantly communicating the things missing from the hoard to the heads of the various gathering factions and Darla, the clan’s head battle hoarder who collects all the useful things won from the battling squads through out Sornieth. She is also in frequent contact with the sisters Leoni and Penny, who are always looking for bartering goods and alchemy ingredients.
Despite having to talk to many members of the clan on a daily basis and being good natured in her own way, Mykiss has no friends in the clan. She is far too busy working away in the stacks of the hoard to make friends, and her peculiar habits quickly distance her from other dragons. No one enjoys spending long periods of time with her, and she has no fondness for extended periods of socialising either. Despite this, she is highly regarded and respected in the clan and if she needs assistance, she is never short of volunteers.
