Truthtellers are a phenomenon that occurs in very few dragons. They are only ever able to see, hear, or sense truth. They can see through illusions, and would not be able to hear someone's voice if they spoke a lie. Likewise, Truthtellers cannot speak or cast illusions themselves. They're useful in negotiations for both sides.

The last Truthteller in the lair was conniving despite his forced honesty, and managed to find ways around it to mess with the clan. This ended with him dying. Since then, Rohkii's decided that it's best to take in someone who is dedicated to the clan. Aliyas was born in a lightning flight, but has always wanted to be closer to the sea. Rohkii decided his desire to be close to the water would keep him loyal, and she's been right so far.

Aliyas himself is rather polite and agreeable. He seems to get along with everyone for the most part and fit in well. Over time, he's become known as wise and many clan mates will come to him for advice. His tough scales allow him to withstand the water's great pressure for extended periods of time, so it's common for him to go diving in the deep.

While he lends his abilites to several branches of Charakka, he does not work under anyone but the Leader herself. Seeing as his job is nothing but to tell the truth, he is kept from any potential politics or conflicting interests to keep him as neutral as possible. Aliyas appreciates this.
