Biography
Sleek and beautiful with a peppery, happy personality, Briar (who's full name is Briar Beauty) has charmed many. However, there's only one male for her, and that's her mate, Bramble.
CLAN POSITION: Dancer
I keep this lore up for nostalgia alone.
tw: suicide
Briar was born in the Shadow clan, but she never felt like she belonged there. All of those dragons were tricksters, and she was hard pushed to find one who was kind to her. Aside from her parents. That changed completely when she grew older. All the males seemed to notice her exquisite beauty, and fell over themselves trying to impress her. However, they tried to impress her by attacking each other, trying to show her who was alpha.
Briar, seeing the fighting she was causing, fled the Shadow clan. She wandered for many months, and one day settled in The Fortress of Ends; in the Ice clan. It was cold there, very cold, but there were no dragons there. Finally, Briar could rest without worrying about males staring at her body, or fighting each other over her. When Briar awoke, she saw a triple pink imperial staring down at her in surprise.
He was a male.
Briar scrambled to her feet, ready to run, plead with him not to kill any dragons over her, or simply fight him in an effort to stop him.
But he was kind, very kind. He didn't stare at her beauty like the other males did. He didn't think she was merely some toy for him to play with. He treated her like a dragon. Like the intelligent, fun dragon she was. Eventually, he asked her where she was from. He told her his name was Bramble.
And Briar, very trusting of him by now, told him everything. How she had been ignored, then no male would leave her alone, how there was bloodshed over her, and how she had run because of it.
Bramble listened intently, and when she was finished, he asked her what she was going to do now.
Briar bowed her head and told him sadly that, she would have to find a way to cut herself off from all dragons.
Bramble looked thoughtful at that, and then told her that maybe that wasn't necessary. He told her that he had heard of a lair in the Nature clan where all of the dragons were peaceful, and happy. Perhaps, yes, the males would fight over her, but they wouldn't kill one another over it. And their friendships were too strong to be broken over on a female.
So, with hope in her heart, Briar spent the next few days preparing the journey to that lair. But when the time came for her to say goodbye to the handsome male, she found she couldn't. The words caught in her throat. They wouldn't come.
Tearing herself away, Briar fled The Fortress of Ends and flew away away away.
She crossed the Wind territory, and then the Water territory. But as she neared the edge, she realized that to get to the Nature clan, she would have to go straight through the Shadow territory, her homeland.
So she went around, through the Plague clan. But some Plague dragons caught her. They were young, headstrong males, and they didn't really know what to do with her. But they were still males, and they too noticed her beauty.
And though they were not Shadow dragons, they were still dragons, they too began to fight. This was worse, for the Plague dragons are the most savage of dragons, and the wounds they gave each other were grievous.
Briar eventually managed to escape, under cover of the battle.
As she flew, she wondered if she should simply kill herself, to save the males from an early death. She landed in the mountains of the Earth clan, and readied herself to plunge off a cliff. As she prepared to, she wondered if this was the right thing to do. But she was trying to save dragons, she told herself. Surely this can't be wrong, under the circumstances. She closed her eyes and jumped off.
Down...down...down... Then she was caught. Caught in gentle paws. Briar opened her eyes. Then she gasped.
Bramble was holding her, and carrying her towards safety. He must have caught her as she fell.
She tried to explain why she tried to do it. But he didn't listen. He carried her to the top of the cliff, and asked her why. She told him again.
But Bramble was a smart dragon, and he convinced to come to the Nature lair. He added that he wouldn't have let her kill herself anyway.
Briar asked him how he had come there.
He told her that he had followed her secretly, to make sure that she would be alright. He had only caught up with her in time to see her throw herself off the cliff.
She asked him again why he had followed her.
Bramble looked her in her purple eyes, and he told her that she had probably heard this a lot, but he loved her.
Briar blushed and knew that Bramble did not mean that he loved her beauty.
He loved her. For her.
And Briar found that she loved him too.
They went to the Nature lair together. And there, Briar was happy to find out that though the males all thought she was gorgeous, they understood that Bramble was her mate now. And they never pursued Briar that way.
Briar and Bramble lived happily in that lair for the rest of their lives.
THE END. (hope you enjoyed it! I know it was cheesy, but keep in mind that this was my first story I wrote on this site)
