Biography

Sin
"The Defensive Secretary / Lawful Neutral"
"The Defensive Secretary / Lawful Neutral"
The pines were roaring on the height.
The winds were moaning in the night.
The fire was red, it flaming spread.
The trees like torches blazed with light.

Sin’s entire life has been a journey of self discovery. He hatched from a lone egg, buried under a snowdrift in the Southern Icefields, apart. He had no parents to name him and define him. He had no siblings to be compared to or distinguished from. He was a blank slate, like the white fields of ice around him, and he would write his own identity.
He lived for a long time as a hatchling with no name. He had no need of a name- he knew who he was after all. It was only after he started to interact with other dragons that he needed to attach himself to a name, something for others to call him. It was an unusual concept to him- his entire life could not be summarized by a sequence of sound, so he took a very long time picking the sound. ‘Sin’ resonated with him, sounded right when others said it.
He traveled the world, learning from anyone and anything. He would listen to hatchlings and all the things they imagined, he would listen to the very old, and all the things they knew. He learned from a miner how to tell when rock is unstable. He learned from a sailor how to spot a coming storm. He learned from a hatchling that orange was the color of dreams. As he had defined his own name, so he defined his own body. As he knew more of the world and himself, his body changed to match. As he walked all across the continent, his brown skin became patterned and dappled, like soil. This was right. As he widened his eyes and his mind, yellow smoke curled around his frame, like ancestral incense. This was right. Each change in him made him more truly himself.
He found, eventually, the clan, his clan. Or perhaps fate led him to it. All he knew was, as soon as he set foot there, he knew he would not leave. The dragons were kind, honest, and hardworking. They welcomed him warmly, but firmly. Anyone can stay, but everyone must work. That was just fine with Sin- he put his worldly knowledge to their use. He became a teacher: taught them how to make their caves more stable, how to read the skies, how to track the wiliest game.
Sin is a skeptical, gruff character. Protecting over hurting, he is quite adept in defensive magic. Using his ice magic to create distractions or barriers to allow him and others to escape unharmed. He enjoys teaching and even started his own literacy program. He hates be wrong, however, what he hates even more is "magic". No, not the elemental magic, but magic as in fortune tellers and reading minds. Mostly because it makes him feel helpless, which is something he wishes to keep at a minimum.
