Theirs was a romance of the sea and the sky. They had spied each other from afar as the clouds coasted and the waves lapped at the shore. Their regard grew, and they wished to meet.

But a hard line of air and earth separated their embrace. Though she was the endless white and blue and powerful winds, she couldn't leave the clouds to reach him in the sea. They were forever parted, yet their regard blossoms and was heard in the baubles of the water and the song upon the sea.

One day the two made a final desperate effort, a great tempest echoing a great storm as the clouds bunched and the winds howled and pushed them down, bolts of white-hot lightning reaching desperately to touch the sea and hold.

The Great Mother had heard seen the blossoms of their love as they drifted past her home among her glades of the earth, and now she found pity in her earth and stood, and approached the gale. Her pity grew, and she took the sky in one leafy hand and the sea in the other, and calmed them. She took them into her own domain and they lived on the earth, finally together.

Or at least, that's what the hatchlings will murmur about the Noc and her mate, born in an era before the history of the Keep. Kelpie doesn't stop them, as it is her job to encourage stories and thoughts. One might even hear her regaling them with stories when asked what did the sky and the sea do after that. She is very patient and kind, and always seen with a group of hatchlings in tow.

She is very used to seeing her husband so infrequently, and they are the kind of couple that is fine with separation- they can be apart for a month and then come back together as though they were never apart. They are also that sort of older couple that simply sits and quietly enjoys each others company, the kind that you'd expect to see in a sleepy little village in the countryside.
