Biography
Self-hatch from a Noc egg.
First G1 double, and hatched on Jan 1 2025!
Also my "Nocturnal Orphan" achievement dragon.
She got almost 20 likes within the first hour of her life wow.
Her tert is only 5 steps away from her double colors, and she can work out to be a false triple! She's Light with matching eyes to a lot of her accent colors. I'll nickname her "Bright Future."
Considered naming her "Aurora," "Prayer," "Hope," or "Faith," but landed on "Promise."
Meta Origins: The Promise
I watched a video today (day of the hatching) which showed the northern lights for an hour, and the aurora was almost always green (not her shade of green, but green. But her color is Mint, which is cold, so it's still on theme. She's even Light.) Also, during that time, I was in prayer and was able to strengthen my faith and get over my pain and longing. Or rather, become strong enough to be okay with it. I am certain that this gal is a little "I love you" and reassurance of what I already know: that everything is working out just how it's supposed to, and I can have peace in my trust during this time of waiting.
Here's the thread celebrating her hatch!
I also have some scries there. How am I going to pick one?
This is the thread I made to try to narrow down her options with other people's opinions! What I learned is that no matter which path I take, she'll look beautiful. XD Opinions are so split!
It seems that I very much enjoy matching her eyes to Varnish/Lacquer and I like using transparent terts.
But her scene has a lot of dark purple in it, and having a green-yellow-purple color scheme is good color theory. Purple, after all, is yellow's opposite, and so they compliment one another. Plus, green and purple have blue in common, and green has yellow in it. Very nice. May go that way, especially if I go with a Modern breed in order to dress her up.
If I make her a Modern, I am giving her the ice sword from Gala.
A few scries from the thread to give a general idea of her potential looks:
But what if I love the Wind Ancient and want to make her that? For now, I'll look to Gala for inspiration since it's so soon.
Lore (Just notes for now.)
Though properly named "Promise," she is sometimes just called "Miss" or "Missy" as nicknames by dragons familiar enough with her to give her those nicknames. Part of the Order of the Aurora: a group of noble warriors who protect the weak and offer relief and peace to those who cannot help themselves. The vibe of the group is one of reverence and valor. It's a pretty small group, though, so once she was proficient enough to advance from an apprentice to a full-fledged Aurora Knight, she set off to uphold the order's creed. More or less everyone in the order operates like this once they can handle themselves. Her whole life, she has only known the Order, as she was an orphan taken in by them at a very young age. Her mentor was like a father to her, and she loved receiving his approval. They have a very close relationship, and she is very proud to have become a full knight, even though it means that they do not travel together anymore.
The Order of the Aurora has its headquarters in the Southern Icefield - specifically, atop a mountain, where the diamond dust sparkles in the cold, clear night amid the stars, and the aurora winds its path. A council resides there, and it is the home the knights come back to and set out on missions from.
She has honed her light magic to the aurora style. She can fire lasers and create shields of light made from aurora light rather than the standard yellow beams.
