Caerna Remember what was, long ago... When history breathes, Caerna answers. There's something in the air, here. Something ancient and pervasive. Those born in Caerna carry it in their being like a gods' given blessing. Stories of old claim Caerna is built on the ruins of old civilizations, long since forgotten yet somehow everpresent. Folktales revere what was, champion its ascension, a god more real to them than any other. Nothing ever rests in Caerna, not truly. The past creeps up, demands to be known. It's the way of things, here. Caerna feels unfamiliar to any not born on its soil. There's a clear, poignant sense that below the surface, there's more. Something powerful imbued into the very earth. Outsiders point to Caerna as a spectacularly magical region. Locals will tell you it's nonsense, never stopping to wonder why their crops grow so quickly or their song is like a siren's. Those of the Sanctum will tell you it's for the best only a few can genuinely harness what is theirs by blood. Caerna claims what belongs to it, and often, that which does not. Caerna offers a home in what is and what once was. It will meet anyone who enters, but be sure to meet it in kind. |
