Before you: a deep slash rent through black stone - the plummeting canyon between the northwestern corner of the Ashfall Waste and the flickering tail of the Twisting Crescendo. To the south, lapping waves and towering ice; to the east, the Great Furnace, billowing smoke.
Below you: entropy at its finest, molten runoff hissing into frozen salt water, shards of black glass and showers of blazing magma thrown skyward by opposing elements, then tossed asunder by the endless, shrieking gale.
Yet around you, there is life.
