In the depths of a forgotten void, the raging tempest that was the abyss stood in the middle of it. Those who dare brave themselves, or those who were worthy, were summoned—pulled—into the abyss.
In this realm, the supreme being, Azrael, reigned. All the inhabitants of the abyss were his followers—his eyes and ears. Those who did not bow, were never seen again.
”Battle not with monsters, lest ye become a monster, and if you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.”

The palace of light is the centerpiece of the Aevum Empire.
Ruled over by Emperor Odin, the empire was rather prosperous, the grand view of the capital constantly attracting all kinds of tourists.
However, much like many of the other nations that were littered across Sornieth, Aevum had its fair share of secrets.
The infamous empress of Aevum—Empyrea—had suddenly disappeared one day, leaving her husband alone on the throne. Her only son, Prince Prelude, was in charge of overseeing her return safely, but there were no clues left behind… or so they had thought.
There had been questionable rumors within the empire surrounding the missing empress, most prominent in areas where the eyes and ears of royalty did not reach. In the parts of the empire not shown to outsiders, shady individuals came bearing their questionable information: stories of a curse, of a monster, and of icy glowing eyes.

Far off in a secluded corner of Sornieth lies an impressive range of mountains known as the Jade Mountains. The range stretches far into the clouds and was most prominently known for housing the twin spirits of creation.
As the legend goes, their breath flits life onto lifeless dragons, awaking them from a stone cracked slumber. Both creation and healing, their skills were much coveted.
However, it is said that there is a barrier barring entry from any mortals and unwelcome visitors. Unless they have proven themselves to be worthy, the mountains remain closed off from the rest of the continent.
