Clan Info
Rose's clan is not so much a clan as it is a family. Most of the dragons here were found by Rose and her mate as youths, and she sees them as much her literal children as her own brood. As such, there is no hierarchy so much as that of parents and siblings, friends and denmates. They originally came far away from the plateaus of the east, but came upon the Labrynth when Duncan and Cinalagos wanted to visit their brood, and just happened to be looking for a new lair by chance. Most of the dragons enjoy their new home, but they'd be lying if they told you they weren't a little scared. The labrynth is so much more claustrophobic compared to the open skies, and there are many new dangers here they are unaware of, and they know it. But they have enjoyed the abundance that spoils them, and they see the new wonders they discover each day as near magical.
Currently, their abode is situated in a large cove along the island's western coastlines. True to their wind roots, they use bamboo in their construction, and have used it to make honeycomb-like tiers of towers and huts climbing all the way up the cliffsides. Hatchlings run around with kites, and for some, gliders. Dens and burrows are shaped into the cliffs themselves behind the safety of the honeycomb, making for roomy, sheltered lairs. While thick layers of living bamboo walls enclose their clan for safety sake, their buildings themselves are very airy with the top floors having near open ceilings - perfect for watching the stars, taking in the salt and birdsong on the breeze, and avoiding a wind dragon from getting too claustrophobic. Above the cliffside is a windy and open grassy plateau, perfect for any wind dragons that might be missing home. However, the forest is too close for comfort here, and hiding spaces are few, so they prefer to nestle below the cliffs, secluded and hidden out of sight. Being near a beach means that occasionally fruit, dead fish, (sometimes living ones too!) and rarities wash up ashore, coming through the bamboo gate filters via the tide. If they find an especially lucky find, they give some to the neighbouring Talonok as a peace treaty -- if mainly to avoid being shredded to death in the night. Some of the Talonok clans like them, some of the Talonok clans resent their annoying intrustion to their coasts. But all in all, the local Talonok tolerate them, because how else are you going to get prime oarfish delivered straight to your doorstep? Not to mention, it's not a bad idea to have dragon allies in a world full of dragons who want to hunt, battle, or eat you. As for other dragons visiting the area, well... Tread politely and carefully. You are being watched.
