As you enter the inauspicious lair ahead, you are greeted with an arcane magic wall and disembodied yet honeyed voice–––

"Long ago, a young guardian dragon named Ornoire stumbled across a small girl that had run away from home, taking shelter in his cave because any other human would not dare to enter. As a single male dragon, Ornoire did everything he could to scare the young girl back to her people but nothing prevailed. When days had eventually turned into weeks, he soon realized that this child was never leaving. It took a long time for the brutish male dragon to be comfortable with the girl's presence but they bonded over time. Years passed with just the two of them, Ornoire because the protector of the powerful arcanist woman this young girl had become before him. Their little duo soon became a bustling lair full of dragons of varying sizes, types, and abilities. The young woman holds a strong love for all of them and wanted misfits like herself to have a family and a place to call home."

The wall slowly starts to fade, revealing a small black pearlcatcher scribbling away at a scroll as she sits perfectly balanced in a rather large pearl. A loud snort startles you as it uncovers a large dark guardian dragon encircling her. With a sly smile, the pearlcatcher looked up to you with alarmingly bright red eyes–––

"Welcome home, child."
