Overview
Everlux dragons are an ancient Light flight species. This tiny breed exists in large social groups, with individuals colloquially referred to as "bookwyrms" due to their love of the written word. Most have remained in a series of massive, woven cocoon-like structures in the woods near Emperor's Wake, where they have maintained extensive archives of scrolls, tomes, and parchments. Recently, Luminax's destructive path has drawn close enough to their homes to pose a grave threat, and many Everlux have begun to scatter out to the rest of Sornieth with their beloved records.

Physical Attributes
Everlux are among the smallest of dragon species, comparable to their shadowy Veilspun counterparts. They move with elegance and are able to glide or flutter through the air with ease. While their curving wings are fragile, they are also a point of vanity. Everlux take great pride in maintaining their beautiful colors and patterns, though they take care to discourage comparing one's individual appearance to another's. Everlux possess sensitive antennae used for both communication and sensing elemental magic. These antennae are unique in that they're prehensile, and are often used for anything from turning pages, to weaving, to offering comfort and affection to loved ones.

Everlux do not have bony teeth. They use their hard, ridged jaw structure to break down plant matter and can even utilize its strength to grind down different types of wood. Once deconstructed, they can mix the resulting wood fibers with their own saliva to craft paper. By layering these sheets, Everlux can even form constructions as sturdy as the lumber it was harvested from in the first place. They sport a gland in the roof of their mouth that is used for making silk—a vital part of Everlux society. While the horn on their heads can be wielded in combat, it is primarily for thread management when weaving.

Social
Many Everlux enjoy writing one another notes or speaking face-to-face, but they are also adept at communicating at a distance. They are able to convey complex ideas to any others in line of sight by using dextrous, nuanced movements of their antennae, legs, and wings.

Recording and sharing knowledge is a cornerstone of Everlux society and they value the thrill of sharing information of all types! While Everlux dragons meticulously catalog historical records and indexes of verifiable facts, they place just as much importance on sharing personal experiences, opinions, passions, and idle curiosities.

As a result of this drive to satiate the mind and connect with past, present, and future loved ones, each Everlux makes a ritual of chronicling their daily lives. While the primary archive in Sunbeam Ruins was filled with historical facts, records, and other vital teachings, an overwhelming majority of it was filled with tomes from all the Everlux in times gone by. There is no hard and fast rule about how much or how often one should record their day-to-day, but all seek to write down what they find to be notable. Thus, an Everlux dragon's life is often split into literal "chapters". It's up to the individual to determine when they have moved on to a new segment of their life; many do so at similar milestones (births and deaths, unions, new studies, etc), but anyone can deem a moment to be the "right" time to close one chapter and open another.

These transitions are often marked by a celebration, even if the change that prompted it was grim or difficult in nature. Everlux take joy and comfort in sharing all parts of life with their clan, especially during dark times. Many of these celebrations take the form of a symposium, where Everlux gather to connect, feast, and engage in prompted discussions or friendly debates. Until recently, most of these events have remained within Everlux populations alone—not out of any desire for exclusion, but simply because the Everlux are notable homebodies and did not often travel until Luminax's destructive path threatened their homes and archives.

Lairs
While Everlux lairs resemble great woven cocoons, they build their structures as open-air as possible for the sake of letting in light. Families and individuals reside in their own pockets, which are draped with silk that can pull closed for undisturbed resting, reading, or weaving. These draperies are often decorated with dyes or trinkets and can just as easily be drawn open for communicating via the flutter of wings and twist of antennae. Personal dwellings contain silk hammocks for sleeping, lounging, and crafting.

Most lairs also have communal areas for the sake of keeping records and holding symposiums. Using their ability to create wooden structures, many Everlux build impressive shelves and cases for their collections, which are often secured or even hung from the ceiling with sturdy weaves of silk. These areas are decorated with clan members' creations, ranging to anything from delicately-folded paper art to intricately-crafted blankets to knitted toys for hatchlings.

Tactics
Given their size and the fragile nature of their wings, Everlux dragons prefer to avoid combat unless they are given no other choice. Aside from their physical limitations, many find there to be little worth engaging in violence over. They solve disputes with words whenever possible.

When pushed, Everlux can use their horns for defense. Most utilize it as a focal point for spellcasting. When in greater numbers or with time to prepare, they often use silk weavings as traps to limit an enemy's mobility. Their priority in combat is generally not victory, but escape—given the opportunity, an Everlux will wield their form of elemental magic to distract and disorient opponents long enough to get away.
