I mean, I know that you wanna auction things to other people and make a TON of money, but I've spent (not kidding here...since noon today, it's 10 PM for me) 10 hours stalking the front page, with 500 gems and only 2k treasure, hoping to find a hatchie that I can buy cuz I wanna expand my lair a little. Every time I click on something where someone is selling there is an auction there gone up to like thousands of gems PLUS double digit-k treasure for one dragon. I mean...would it be to bad to just, for people like me who are tired of hunting just to get blown out of the water completely, set a price like "X amount of treasure or gems, fist come first serve"?
I know I probably sound whiny or like I'm ranting but I'm sure I'm not the only one feeling this way.

Coliseum for loot, Fairgrounds, Crim's.

The market is out of control and you basically have to wait it out. It'll settle down after the next cool down.

This is not an instant gratification game.

And Coliseum and Scavenging are known to drop Eggs.

coffee. need coffee.
I go to the collesium all the time, but I mostly just get food, or trinkets/materials which I am keeping for crafting. and Crim's is a very slow way to get treasure anyways.
I dont have the patience for puzzles, nor am I any good at the memory game. I barley make any money every time I do it.
And I agree, the market is a bit outta control.
and I have found an egg, but I hatched it, not knownig at the time that eggs can apparently sell for thousands of gems...

This is not an instant gratification game. You need to work the system.

AH your Coliseum winnings. Battle stones go for treasure quickly.

If you don't want to play the games for treasure, you'll have to be patient and wait for your breeding cool down to be up.

I have battle stones in the auction house, a TON of them, and none are selling, only one has so far.
And I'm playing to collect more dragons really, and fight them and trade and such. Isn't that why we are all playing? For the dragons? Not the fake money?
and I never said it was instant gratification. I don't mind a challenge in a game. What I'm complaining about is that people who likely just dumped a bunch of irl money into the game (Which people like me with a minimum wage job 12 hours a week cant do) keep sniping and swooping in to take pretty much every single hatchling or anything that is up for sale.

@MidnightYK -- I feel ya. I play the Fairgrounds and Coliseum as much as I can around my real-life activites but the treasure returns still aren't high enough for most of the stuff around here. And I see starter hatchlings up in the Auction House for like 70,000+ treausure. Yipes!

But the market should cool in a few weeks. Everyone's just trying to make the most they can at the moment.

Your Guardian boy is quite nice (opposite color scheme of mine haha). I'd love some of his genes in my lair. If my next round of hatchlings is good, I'd be willing to give you one in exchange for a future hatchling between that one and your boy, if that sounds good?

If you want set prices, the AH is perfect for that. In order to actually get something for cheaper prices, you'll need to use the forums.
Also, prices haven't solidified yet, meaning that I've found hatchlings for 10-20k often, while at the same time, they're being offered for 70+k. Wait a bit, and you'll get it.
If you can spend 10 hours browsing forums, you can definitely spend time to earn money. Even if you're bad at them, you can do Fairgrounds games for an hour to get 10-20k treasure. 10 Hours straight would mean 100-200k treasure you could've earned.
Also, even at minimum wage, 10 hours means like 80 bucks. If you spent that all on gems, you could get 8000 gems. So instead of hunting the forums, I'd suggest using the time to actually earn treasure/gems so that you can compete.
These people who are bidding so high aren't only just people who spent all their money into this. They slowly snowballed up. While some just bought their way in with gems, others used patience, strategy, and clever marketing to build their wealth. Find good deals/items for cheap. Sell them for higher prices.
Of course those who have spent IRL money and time invested in this game have more money. That's the point. If you're like me, and unable or unwilling to put in the same time and money, you'll have to be clever or patient about expanding lairs. When resources/time is limited, you have to be clever with them. ;)

Recently came back after a long hiatus, so sorry if I'm new to some things
I've tried the AH but everything there is so expensive @.@
and true, that does add up after a long while.
and as far as the job goes? minum wage is $7.25 where I am, so say it was 10 not 12 that is about 75 bucks lets say. Then don't forget taxes, gas driving there and back, as well as any other driving I need to do during the week (like my weekly D&D game ^^; social lives are important SOMETIMES XD)
btw not trying to argue with all your stuff here, just explain ^^;
