Or your nesting grounds to see if the unhatched nest is still there. We made nests to be transactional, so they can't delete themselves if they don't provide hatchlings.
WE recently set up a test server environment, and it looks like some of the changes that weren't ready yet on our test server accidentally got pushed to live before they were properly completed. Your lairs should be fine, and it's now possible to hatch your nests.
Note that colors are generated when a nest hatches, not when the eggs are laid. If you attempted to hatch a nest during the bug and saw a preview of the babies, they'll probably be different colors when you hatch them for real because those previous babies were never officially created.
The server may have had a little hiccup at that moment. Akiri made chests to be transactional. This means that both parts of opening a chest have to go through successfully or all of the parts revert to being unopening.
Parts = 1 Loot arrives in your inventory. 2 Chest deletes itself.
I wanted to jump in here and clarify a few things. Firstly, I know that there are a few of you that might be upset about this, for which myself and the staff really apologize. We have to be in so many places at once, that sometimes it's hard to keep track of what information went where. We are going to be working very hard on that. As for Scatterscrolls:
There was an issue in which a section of the color wheel was not being factored into the possible outcomes. It has been fixed, and we have been closely monitoring scatterscroll results to ensure the fix is working properly.
I had previously made a statement in a thread stating that the issue could not occur, but I had not considered the possibility that this item could have suffered from using our original 47-color palette, and not the expanded 67-color one that was activated after our Kickstarter. I want issue a huge apology on that. We had been using the 47-color palette for many, many years, and the newer colors were a very recent addition.
We were not attempting to sweep anything under the rug, but have been working together on the possible methods of compensation that we could employ for those who feel they were adversely affected by the issue. The reason nothing has been said yet is because we have still been figuring out what that solution is, and we normally bundle things like this into our bigger periodic updates.
We will have more information about everything in our next update for you guys, and appreciate everyone who helped us identify the issue. :) Sorry again for the frustration.
Starfall Celebration:
This month all of dragonkind has come together to celebrate The Starfall Celebration, the festival of the arcane flight. You may gather magic shards from the arcane zone by using any gathering profession this week. In addition, shards are dropping off arcane and neutral monsters in the coliseum.
A solidified chunk of pure magical energy, pulsating slowly. This can be traded at the Festive Favors shop during the Starfall Celebration.

The festive-favors stall has opened for business, and you may trade magical shards in for holiday-exclusive items. This stall will be open for the duration of the holiday, which ends Saturday, September 28th at 23:59 server time.

The Starfall Celebration Skin Contest Results are in:
Congratulations to our winners! @Gavotte @Kanamine @Krissycakes @Ladytrupp @Oxygene @Piney @Rattus and @Zwynx For the remaining duration of Festival, four of these skins will be stocking in the treasure marketplace now, while the other four will be rare coliseum drops from Arcane-aligned monsters, very rare coliseum drops from neutral monsters, and very rarely gathered from arcane digging.
@ParticleSoup @Geophagus It's not a stock photo, but it is the work of a new artist. ^_^ A lovely artist named Fable just started helping us out with some freelance illustration work.
Here's the big version. There's a lot of detail in it, so when it shrinks down it's almost photo-realistic. Very pretty stuff!
The sakura trade will be taking advantage of items that coliseum farmers get not-too-infrequently, and as a result have lost some of their value. Low quantities of higher value items. :-)
The black tulips are a ton of one low-value item. :-)
The marketplace petals apparel may not show up immediately, but it's now in the system and is a part of the marketplace's restock chance as well as chest's apparel chances. So you should start seeing them very soon. :-)
On the same note, Swip's petals are in his database too. They're a part of his random rotation as well.
As summer comes to a close the last of the flowers fall to the ground, leaving clawfuls of discarded petals to swirl in the breeze. Flowerfall Petals are now stocking in the marketplace. Click here to read more about today's updates.

Additional Updates:
Dragon and User search is back online. We will be watching search closely with Lightsky to make sure that it's as optimized as possible.
Google checked has been taken down for the time being. We will be working to get it back online, but in lieu of that, will begin researching alternative payment options. Paypal is still available.
As much as I love these types of threads, I'll clear something up for everyone: there is no coding on the back-end that would skew Scatterscroll results in any way, shape, or form. Each of the three genes has exactly the same chance to roll any of the 67 color options.
Each time the item is used, it uses a function to pick any color in the entire array, and it does this once for each gene. That array does not leave out any parts of the color wheel, and there are no imposed ratios in sections of the wheel. It is 100% random for all genes. Each color has 1/67th of a chance to come up. We made complete sure of this in our internal testing of the item.
Remember that with this item, there are tons of combinations possible, and documentation of scatterscroll results would be a very difficult task indeed!
We'll keep tabs on the data, just in case! But in our testing and review, nothing appears to be out of place from what we can see.
We've been hard at work on stuff behind-the-scenes this past week or so, and would like to move ahead with trying to re-enable some of the features we've turned off. Tomorrow morning, September 18, at 06:00 server time, we will be placing the site into a brief maintenance to test some optimizations we've made to our Search function.
After the internal tests (conducted by Lightsky) have concluded, we will be opening the site back up. For the 24 hours or so following the maintenance, we'd like you to use the Search feature as you would normally (no need to actually pound on it) and provide us feedback on the site's overall responsiveness. We will make a thread available for that discussion. If the maintenance period runs long, we will provide updates below. Thank you!
Updates:
08:04 - The site is available for use, as well as the Search feature. There is currently a bug where an error is being produced every single time a search is conducted, but it is fairly benign and does not prevent the search from going through. We are looking into this.
Checkout actually came down because google didn't like something about our url and suspended future transactions until we resolve it. We're currently in contact with them to try and get them to reactivate our checkout account, but they're not being particularly helpful in that regard, and wont' say specifically what about our page was incorrect.
Taking checkout down early was not something we chose to do. If we can get google working with us again we'll try and get it back up, otherwise we'll be looking into alternative avenues for payment, as we realize paypal is not for everyone. :-)
Akiri was doing work on the hoard about an hour ago. I wonder if this is tied to that. Please feel free to report in this thread and log what you lost. If he confirms that this is the end of the bug and it was only during that window, this is small enough to do one-off refunds without care packages >.>;
Data collection-wise, I can confirm that the scrolls are purely random. It choses a number for each area between 1/67, and each number has the same chance of being chosen. If this is to try and deduce the science behind it, there it is, laid out. If it's just to see what people got, then carry on. :-)
For those who wanted to see what it looks like on iridescent. In answer: No, it will not be shiny. It is layered above your primary and secondary genes like other tertiaries are. :-)
Achievements aren't broken. They've been disabled (though in the end I suppose this will look like much the same thing!) We were trying to narrow down things that were causing our website to be slow, and Achievements were one of the culprits. Akiri is working on streamlining how they're checked and awarded. We'll bring them back up after we've had a chance to monitor our server's performance without them for a bit.
