Another way to see how likely the probability of something is is to hit the "preview offspring" option several times. It will give you a random sampling of what is possible. In the case of the gembond/circuit, you'd be likely to see gembond as an outcome much more frequently than circuit.

Of course, the preview page is random, and not a guarantee of what you will receive. Though gembond is much more likely than circuit, you could have a "preview" or a hatching of the babies that has circuit more represented - it would just be unlikely to have happen, as the odds are against you.

As noted in the most recent update, our optimizations are something we hope to release in the near future. I am excited to see what they do for the live site. :-) It would be wonderful to be able to open registrations again without having a slowdown to follow it!

Speckle and freckle can be a bit hit and miss (like most of the genes) depending on the colors and what else it's paired with. I think it gets a lot of hate because the speckle marking creates a sort of visual texture.

Oh wow, that looks great. Almost looks like a corroded metal effect (minus the metal, but similar patternwise!)

Basic genes drop (in that there are gene removal scrolls, which effectively work as a scroll that resets your dragon's primary, secondary, or tertiary to "basic"). Other than that, no other gene scrolls drop from the coliseum or Pinkerton.

A grip of cold is washing over the realm, and the final leaves of autumn have all been collected. Dragons often make use of the pre-winter ritual to fashion crowns out of the discarded flora. Two wreaths have found their way into the Treasure Marketplace, and Swipp has been making good business off of the other.





Purchase Dragons From Their Profile Pages
After lots of great feedback from the community, we have implemented the option to purchase a dragon directly from its profile page. A "purchase" button will appear in the top right corner if a dragon is eligible for purchase, and clicking that button will display its price.

The dieties do not really have a breed per say, as a breed implies the ability to produce that those physical characteristics through reproduction. As the gods means of multiplying tends to involve cataclysmic battles or fallouts - they don't exactly have this thing.

Several of the dragon gods did make dragon breeds that share characteristics with them; vain little buggers!

If you want to see the randomizer in action, the exact same randomizer is used for bebe previews as for what actually hatches. Just click "preview offspring" a bunch of times and you can get a larger batch of results from there. :-)

A lot of the "I get clones of the parents" posts tend to be noted because when something like that happens - you remember it! This is more common the closer the spreads are. If you have 10 or less possibilities within a primary, secondary, or tertiary color, it makes sense that some will end up doubling up.

The achievement is like the highlander, in that there can only be one, but involves no beheading of the previous wilder of that power to do so.
Doing that would require a special effects budget that we just don't have; it's just awarded for being nice or helping the site. (not half as awesome, but it is what it is.)

Just posting again to say that none of the optimizations from the past month+ have yet been pushed to live. So how fast or slow the server is is independent of that. Its always pretty zippy right after rollover though. :-)

@paintedwings @warriorjames Sorry about the delays. Reward levels that contain the ultimate gallery books are the last to ship out. You should be seeing them soon. :-) We'll post a completion announcement when we finish in case you're worried about the book getting lost. These lil guys have tracking numbers within the US, so hopefully they shouldn't go too far astray. :-)

We're likely to finish shipping out the last of them starting in January. We have them ready to ship now, but with the holiday season many peeps will be out of town, and we don't want books arriving when they're with family. If you need to update your address, please contact us through kickstarter and we can do that.

Ah, the bouncing 'cheve. Does not necessarily mean that you did something bad (though you really shouldn't datamine the site :-P), but that someone else did something awesome. :-) We've sorta been neglecting bouncing the thing around like it was intended.

Highlighting this. :-) We're glad you like the speed, but as a warning it will return to normal speeds fairly soon as the database starts processing its normal workload. Our site is currently speedy because its had no backlog of work.

We aim to get the site speedier, and have some great optimizations on our test server that need some final testing (and these new security patches to prevent the exploits need to applied to our test server as well) before we push them to live.

We apologize for the disruption. We have been working hard on prepping several site optimizations so that they can be deployed to you and hopefully improve much of your browsing experience.

Unfortunately, an exploit has been brought to our attention that has diverted some time from that and will need to be addressed immediately. To do that, we will need to leave the site in maintenance mode for the duration. At this time, we do not have an estimation for when this will be completed.

• 12:10 - Flight Rising has been taken out of maintenance. Your dragons have been fed and your nests incubated for the duration of the downtime. You will find your downtime apparel in your hoard rather than the message center. We will be closely monitoring the site today to see if additional work needs to be done. @MaCarl They are not turned on yet, so do not fret if you don't see them. They will be activated in an upcoming update. :-)

@Rexi Those are valid concerns and are things that the coding team is absolutely working on. :-) However, updates like this do not detract from their time spent coding these things: If it's a new feature or a bug fix that's not related to images, it's probably something that had a programmer's hand in it. If it's updates to our current systems in place, it is something that can be done by the artists. This update was created and implemented entirely by the FR artists. The art team is trying to keep busy while we wait for the exciting changes and additions our programmers are working on to be ready for the public. :-)

Sorry about that. I had a misplaced punctuation character when I uploaded them >.> Theoretically croakers are showing up now! (and shellions should be more common too. A lot of shellions were paired with croakers, so the broken croakers made those sets not show up either.)

We actually have already prepared breeding achievements for all the genes that have gone live while the system has been down, so those will be ready to earn when they're re-enabled. :)

Some yes, and some no. We're doing our best with what tracking we did maintain when the system was disabled and will be awarding achievements retroactively wherever at all possible. :)

To give you a general idea: achievements like "you need these items to get it" will only be earned if you have the items in your possession at the time the system is re-enabled. The same sort of thing goes for breeding event achievements. Because dragons change ownership so often on the site, we would not be able to retroactively award for a breeding that happened in the past.

However, achievements like gathering, familiar collection count, treasure accumulation, and lair sizes will be awarded without issue. :)

We will have a full, comprehensive breakdown of what achievements can and can't be awarded retroactively when that update goes live.

Mire Additions
Shellions and Croakers have joined in the battle for The Mire, and are appearing as enemies in the Coliseum. Dragons that choose to take on this new challenge will be well rewarded for their efforts.


Coliseum Skin Contest
December is an off-month for flight holidays; January will see their return as Ice prepares for the Crystalline Gala! So this month we're going to be trying something a little bit different for our monthly skin contest; rather than a holiday contest, the theme is the coliseum, and the monsters that live in each of its venues. Thanks for asking first! We'd actually like to ask that you steer clear of a project like this for now, as the PSD files are primarily offered for skinmakers. :)

We do have some ideas already on the dev team table that centralize around genes and previews that we're mulling over and discussing, but nothing to announce yet. Appreciate your honesty!

Hey everyone! I wanted to chime in real quick.

This forum moves very quickly, and I give major props to @twitchy for the amount she's able to handle and respond to in a given time period. She is in constant contact with myself and the rest of the administration team, and we are keeping track of everything that comes across the table. We dissect this forum very methodically to weigh volume and frequency.

Unfortunately, we aren't able to provide as much vocal feedback as we'd like to; it's just not humanly possible. I would love for us to be able to do that at some point, and I will try to be much better about it, but I fear that sometimes I'm going to fall short, since time is very valuable. Almost all of that time goes towards the actual analysis, testing, fixing, and implementation so we can get things amended as quickly as we can. This is why the Bug Report Forums are for reports and monitoring, and not necessarily a dialogue and discussion board.

I definitely understand where you guys are coming from, and that you want to know you're being heard, and that your reports are being taken seriously. All I can say is that they are, and we have a profound appreciation for those of you who are taking the time to let us know about the issues. Please do not stop reporting, just understand that because of the volume, it may not be possible for us to respond directly to everything. As always, if you experience a customer service issue that is the result of a bug, you have an outlet for that as well. :)

This is actually a very rare bug you found, and one we're still working on narrowing down. To make a long story short, you don't need to worry about those two Wind flighters being able to see your thread. :) They both landed on a blank page that allowed them to reply, so they both kinda just tossed something into thin air to see what would happen. Somehow, those replies ended up on your thread, but they could not view it.

There is no need for a survey. Being able to select your tert was never an option, not even for a minute. It's not a part of the mechanic, interface, or even our test server. Not possible. No one got to select them. :)
