Much closer to the surface, this section of reef grows out of the edge of the chasm, twisting around itself and reaching toward the sun. Small gaps in the coral give young hatchlings plenty of place to play, hide, and practice hunting or sparring. They are watched over by the progenitors of the clan, who love being able to see their family grow. Newcomers to the clan are not shown here until they are trusted, as it is a hidden place of safety.
