The casting call for Survivor I has officially ended.

Thank you to everyone who applied, or has shown interest in the game. The response to this project has been great :D I'm very grateful.

Now I'm in the process of completing the cast, as well as creating a list of alternate players. Like I mention in the timeline post, both groups of candidates will receive their confirmation messages today, between 10 AM and 1 PM.

Here’s to hoping the bond between our two nations only flourishes!”, exclaimed a visibly gleeful Nocturne dressed in formal attire adorned with amethyst crystals. The listeners followed and toasted with her. A booming holler filled the spacious chamber they were in and a metallic chime of cups confirmed they all believed in the same sentiment. The time of hostility and conflict seemed to have passed with previous generations. What they all felt and what the speaker had just expressed was a desire for unity and mutual respect. Wispwillow Grove was not usually a popular travelling destination for those from Scarred Wasteland, as both Shadow and Plague realms had not been keen on maintaining their neighbourly relationship. But they evolved. The need for connection grew. Even the most aloof of clans began wondering about what, or who, awaited behind the horizon. Among the curious ones was Opal, responsible for that night’s summit, who made sure the diplomats from the West felt welcomed and cared for. She transformed the room, usually dull and uninviting, now draped in rich scarlet and lavender fabrics. The dim moonlight coming through an opening above only added to the atmosphere she had created. “Now, let’s celebrate this momentous occasion like there’s no tomorrow!”, she added, finishing her speech. As the gathering unfolded, the guests, broken into several smaller but ever-changing groups told stories and laughed. A few of them danced, while a lively, rhythmic composition for strings, played by the best violinists in Tangled Wood floated through the room. The party was a resounding success, which pleased the host. For a moment she sat away from others to take it all in. While she was thinking about all the good that could potentially come from this newly formed union, a distinguished Skydancer wearing jewellery made of bones approached her. “You have outdone yourself.” “Thank you. It was not easy. All worth it though. I am glad you were able to convince your comrades to accompany us.” “Yes. And hopefully, next time you can visit our homes near Seedscar. If you’re ready, of course.” “That might require some... preparations.”, Opal responded playfully. “I bet you are all quite accommodating, but your environment is not really famous for that.” “If you survive there, you can survive anywhere! Try it, I dare you!” “We might. Don’t expect miracles, though.” After sharing a chuckle, they decided to join the other guests on the dance floor, as a new catchy song began playing. Applause erupted as both leaders began swaying with the beautiful melody together… At first, it was barely audible. After a few minutes more dragons noticed it. Finally, it reached the same volume as the strings. “Oh, how wonderful. You planned to add flutes too”, said the Plague ambassador, excitedly. But Opal was confused. “No, I… didn’t.” When it finally hit her what it was, her partner’s disposition changed. They stopped any movement, and their expression became blank. It seemed like their carmine eyes lost all lustre. A wave of dread washed over the visitors. The violinists stopped playing, not knowing what to do. And now, apart from worried gasps and hushed whispers, only the sound of pipes could be heard. “Vess? Vesstah? Tell me what’s wrong.” Without providing an answer, the Skydancer spread their wings, pushing several guests. They took a run-up and flew up and through the opening in the ceiling, disappearing into the night. Chaos ensued. “Someone! Fly after them!” “Where are they going?” “I think they headed northeast. Not sure though. It’s so dark…” “There’s no way we can find them now” "It's like they were under a spell!" “Who is behind this?!” “We knew coming here was a bad idea.” Opal stood on the dance floor, frozen and unable to utter a word. The frequency of those incidents is worrying to say the least. Even though we have no reason to believe this situation will escalate on a global scale, enough cases have occured in various realms to consider it an emergency. At this point we do not know who or what is responsible. However, all victims being Plagueborn is a common denominator we were able to discern. No disappearances have happened in Viridian Labyrinth as of yet. Still, an alarming inability to contact one of our smaller regions, as well as our population of fauns was noted. Sadly, we are convinced those occurences are somehow linked. We want to investigate them, but we don't want to do it alone. Therefore, we implore all willing warriors to join a newly formed expedition group, whose main objective is rescuing the lost ones and discovering the truth. This is not a problem for a singular realm.
