TOPIC | [QOL] More links to Game Database
[center][size=5][b]More Links to the Game Database[/b][/size][/center] This is a pretty short and sweet suggestion, but as someone who's slowly chipping away at my hibernal den tasks and has plenty of obscure little trinkets I want to hoard, I'd love more ways to go straight from an item to its page in the Game Database. Item Forum Widget
Muff For example, right now the item widget for forums, clan profiles and dragon bios allows you to see the item's name and tooltip by hovering over it. I think it would be super helpful if tapping on it could send you to the item's page in the Game Database!
Heartswirl For apparel, skins, vistas and familiars, hovering over the item shows its tooltip and clicking on it allows you to preview it. In these cases, perhaps there could be a little icon in one of the top corners that would take you to the Game Database.

Hibernal Den Trade-In and Preview

When unlocking Hibernal Den slots with items, the tasks show all the items you need in a similar way to the item BBCode widget where the tooltip appears, and previews are shown for apparel and familiars. I think being able to click items here and check their Game Database entry would be extra helpful, as it allows you to more quickly check how you obtain items!

I think this is super helpful, but I'd love if there could be an icon available to take you to the Game Database page for each listing, similar to how things are formatted in the Marketplace or Auction House.
Conclusion

huge support! item icons should ALWAYS have the same functionality available (incl. linking to the game database) regardless of where said item/icon appears. kinda egregious they don’t tbh, esp. in places like the forums, hibden, or other people's lairs.

there’s basically no other reason to click an item in a hibden task other than to try and acquire it; why force extra steps in that process? i get economy reservations (to an extent) with things like Arlo’s, but people buying more hibden items would only help the site economy.

if i see an accent on someone else’s dragon let me go right to its database page so i can click the AH button to see if there’s any UFS without typing, PLEASE. genuinely, why force the player to: hover click with precision to see the item name (something that doesn’t even work consistently), scroll down to click the game database, click the correct category (something new players might not know), type the item name, then go to the AH/marketplace etc??? it could literally be 3 clicks from seeing the item to being in a position to buy it: click item, click database icon, click AH button/marketplace link in database. honestly, an option to just straight up search any item in the AH from the tooltip would be even better but i digress.

if AH search parameters were lockable (either natively in the AH or via global settings preferences under profile) that’d further reduce unnecessary, redundant clicks. others with chronic pain/dexterity issues/otherwise prone to RSIs would esp. benefit.

bottom line, and a core tenant of design: the easier something is to do, the more players will do it—which is really reason enough for the change. ntm making the game approachable to new players which helps with long-term retention/growth.

it’s not always touched on in basic industry-standard accessibility style guides (aka the bare minimum), but having a consistent design schema is foundational to accessible design, and particularly benefits neurodivergent people. items/parts of the site that look/function similarly should function in ways the player can predict without experimenting/being told. a player familiar with the dressing room should know exactly what to expect in the scrying workshop (which is not currently the case: how scrys/outfits are saved is completely different and not user-friendly wrt to access/deletion due to not showing most recent first, the ability mass delete, show scrys tied to outfits etc).

TL;DR:reliable consistency/repeatability and accessibility are one and the same so hope to see that reflected in staff’s approach/commitment to accessibility.

Always always. I suspect that this is on "the list" somewhere, and will likely be more of a focus once they finish updating the site's base code and go back to focusing more on the usability of individual pages.
