Challenge M or F

Wanting to start a 100 hatchlings challenge/linage but unsure if dragon should be male or female, thoughts?
(Added info below and so one does not forget said info)

Why?
I have always wanted to do and complete a 100 hatchlings challenge, so I am going with something simple and my favorite color.

Rough lore idea
There name will either be Void, Voiding or Nameless.
Stuck in a void for unknown time, when they remerged they were meet with a blinding light though the cracks of a crumbled in cave, squinting there eyes from the blinding light as they emerge from the ruins, the place they called home and the world around them much different from what they remember.
What happened? Where is everyone? How long have they been gone for?
Time from being in the void made there eyes glow, and created strange markings on there face an down there neck, though as each day passes the markings grow more and more along there body with the void trying to drag them back.
They try to search for answers amongst the ruins of there home for days on end yet to no avail, maybe there only purpose is be dragged back into the void, back into the never ending darkness...

Each mate/nest unlocks a story of the past.
In the end on the 100th mate/nest, there end is to be dragged back into the void, the never ending darkness, but they are not sad about it anymore, they understand why they have to and why they did in the first place.
If it means protecting there loved ones they will do so again and again and again!
But someone can only take so much darkness before it corrupts them, then what will happen...
All mates/hatchlings must be voids. (Or should I just have a said mate myself to always nest them till 100 like a sorta linage? or combine both ideas? 100 hatchlings + linage?)
