dynamic.
man this is one of the changes they could've had a toggle on. we're back to the old old system except now you can maybe click it. i loved sitting back and watching the familiar change but this really took the wind out of that :/ plus most dynamic familiars actually have an order to them with how they're ment to switch.
and no, clicking the familiar is not the same at all.
dynamic.

i cannot see your dragon blingies.
Personally, I don't agree that it's worse this way, I like it a lot better. Being able to grab the specific image I want to see on that page is far better for my liking. However, I agree it probably should have been a toggle. It seems to be sort of divisive so I do kind of hope they add one...
Also, I guess there is the point that the whole flair of the familiar is seeing it switch... but I don't really care about that myself. I found it more annoying than anything, I just wanted to be able to see the image I wanted to see at the click of a button, and we got that! But then we lost the 'dynamic' part of dynamic familiars, argh.
I'm just glad we're back to the original version (+clicking).
I really couldn't stand the auto-rotation from day 1. It was too quick, never letting me appreciate the artwork, and annoying. Thought maybe I'd get used to it but nope. I stopped using dynamic familiars as a result, only ever taking them out of the hoard to bond with them. I'm glad I can finally use them.

I don't mind either way but I do wish it was toggleable for other ppl's sakes
regardless of system settings ofc

If you want post-apocolyptic Plague-flight lore, check out the Everwastes tab!
If you want a just-for-fun pink sparkly Arcane lair, check out the rest of my page!
Either way, I hope you have fun ^^
If they are not "dynamic" they don't need to carry the dynamic-level price tag, lol.

The "dynamic" part used to be that they would change while you weren't looking (like they do now) iirc the first dynamic familiars were Marva presents, so the fact that they changed at all was a fun little surprise. Like "oh! you're a different color than last time!" I don't think they were planned to be animated like we got used to, that happened around the time the site shifted formats on the backend

I didn't realize they changed it. :(
It took me weeks to get the gems to buy a Rosa Cerdae because I wanted to watch it cycle through next to my dragon.
A toggle would be nice.

I was in the camp of 'preferred the old version' when they originally broke and started playing on a loop. It's just... really distracting to me if they're constantly changing while I'm trying to do something on that page. I don't miss them animating automatically.
That said, I would absolutely not object to a toggle existing - there is a thread about that over in Suggestions already, though, so that may be the place to chime in about it.

Yeah, this would definitely have been better to make a toggle, because I'd prefer to have them remain animated, but I do understand there's people who prefer not.

I've only ever known the animated / automatic versions, and I'm surprised how disappointed I feel. I also enjoyed watching them change.
I suppose anything that requires more clicking is also a loss in my mind.
Not quite the same, but animated gif versions I could put in bios would be nice.
