I think giving out eggs instead of scrolls is intentional. It gives players access to the breed, but doesn't devalue the marketplace scrolls. You get a random dragon that you need to put resources into to pretty up, if you even want to keep it. A breed scroll allows you to breed change a dragon with colors of your choosing for free. Giving out eggs makes players buy the scrolls for their fancy day one breeding pairs or pretty G1 in their den, but makes sure players without the funds to buy the scrolls can still play with the new dragons without crashing the scroll market. I think giving out eggs instead is a smart move. If they choose to give players an option that's great, but I don't think giving out mainly eggs is a random choice.

I'd really like this, support from me! Functionally they're both single-use consumable items that are clanbound and each player only gets two, right? The end result is the same, all it means is that people like me who have awful luck and literally never hatch anything good can just buy a dragon we want to apply it to instead!

but giving out scrolls can't devalue the market because they're clanbound, which you can't sell...
[item=clanbound breed change: gaoler][item=clanbound breed change: aberration][item=clanbound breed change: undertide]
(i mean technically you can sell them via the system of you pay for my clanbound scroll and send me the dragon you want me to apply it to and i give it back, but that's a risky process)

That’s two less scrolls any player needs to actually buy, even if they were never ‘traded’. I’m more referring to scrolls sold by the actual marketplace, not by players. That’s 550kt worth of free stuff. Unless you’re planning on regeneing you entire hatchery or lair, that’s a pretty good start.
I guess you could argue that giving out breed scrolls makes it more likely players will by genes for the dragons they scroll over the eggs they hatch, but they’d be doing that anyway if they were buying the bred scrolls themselves.

yes the whole point of giving out eggs and scrolls is to give everyone a chance to have immediate access to the breed?

Support, im not much of a g1 person so i'd vastly prefer to have scrolls, but i know many others that prefer g1s over scrolls. Having the option to pick would be a great solution

Support! I prefer scrolls since I can choose my g1s and make sure I get a m/f pair to breed, and because I’m chronically short on lair space and would rather utilize dragons I already own than hatch more, but I know other people prefer eggs for their own reasons. As the main post said they’re account-locked anyways, so I don’t see why an option would hurt.
