"It doesn't look cursed now, does it?" Barak hummed out, gently nudging the smaller dragon next to him with a claw. "I think my brother's dream is coming along nicely..."
Even if it wasn't Thorin who'd brought it this far. Elros seemed to bring about a reign of hope and construction was shaping up so well. Barak didn't know how Thorin had been as a leader, but clearly his niece had a knack for leadership.
Perdix's faceted eyes narrowed distrustfully. "I don't believe it for a moment. This place was created with evil intentions in mind... It
ended with bloodshed and death. Those things leave a mark. Perhaps not visibly, but its there."
A rumbling laugh. "What? Like, a haunted citadel? Do you actually believe in ghosts?"
"Don't be corrosion-brained. There are ghosts and ghost-like creatures out there! Some travel as companions for deities' sake. I know they're real."
"Okay, but a sentient ghost-pet, friend, whatever, is different than ghosts of vengeful dragons."
"I just think it's a little early for optimism." The spiral stood, stretched, and slunk off into the shadows.
