I 'suckered' one of my friends into joining FR by just posting dragons on main and now I have yet another friend on FR. She's new this year and watching her get SO EXCITED about NotN (like couldn't sleep) has been such a delight since I've been around so long and just don't get excited about fests or stuff anymore.

I not only got to be there for the 100 mil ID milestone, but I also managed to hatch some cool IDs myself! #99999969 and #99999669! I got to voice chat with some other players as we tracked the hatch rates and tried to time our nests for the milestone. It was SO MUCH fun!

One of my favorite memories on FR is ice vs shadow! It was the first battle I was here for, and I had way more time to participate in those days. Had my mire flyer in the buddies program and everything. It was a ton of fun!

thanks for doing this, it's extremely kind of you [emoji=familiar heart size=1] sending you all the good vibes for the future have this bizarre trivia fact about my primary brainrot (pokemon), and also do not feel obliged to read it haha [emoji=ridgeback laughing size=1] in order to determine shininess, the game uses both trainer ID and secret ID upon generating a pokemon. this results in a bizarre little quirk for eggs -- because eggs can be traded to a different trainer with different IDs, it is technically possible for a normal egg to hatch shiny on a different file. this is because, while the pokemon that will hatch from the egg is rolled for and determined the moment the egg is generated, those rolls depend on the IDs of the file the egg is currently on. so, say trainer 1 breeds an egg. the moment that egg is collected, its values are set; if trainer 1 saves before hatching it and resets after, the pokemon will have exactly the same IVs, gender, nature, ability, and shiny status every reset. however! all of that depends on trainer 1's IDs. let's say that instead of hatching this egg themself, trainer 1 instead sent the egg to trainer 2. the game will then roll to determine the unhatched pokemon's values once it arrives on trainer 2's file -- essentially, it's as if it's being picked up from the daycare for the first time. and, because it's a whole new roll, there is a chance that this egg will hatch shiny for trainer 2 when it was normal for trainer 1, and vice versa. [b]BUT!![/b] this was changed as of generation 8! now, the game will basically fudge the unhatched pokemon's values in order to maintain the shiny status it was originally generated with. this means we can now shiny hunt with charm + masuda, save before each egg hatches, check for shininess, and if it sparkles, reset and send the shiny to a different file... where it will also hatch shiny! this is absolutely massive for me personally -- i adore doing nuzlockes, and i also love breeding for competitive pokemon. it's always been a bummer that i can't custom breed shiny starters for weird nuzlocke challenges (obedience is a Nightmare on hardcore nuzzes, especially with additional rules on top), but now i can! i'm currently picking away at a shield single-stages only nuz, whose starters are a trio of shinies: eiscue, falinks, and duraludon. it's been very weird so far haha anyway! hopefully that was at least mildly interesting, and i wish you well with all your future endeavours ^^

I WISH I had dragons wearing your skins to show you too - unfortunately I've been cursed with the urge to continually downsize my lair - I've had so many over the years. just know your work has been some of my favorite on this site (especially as someone who now works in a related engineering field)!!

nice, that's awesome! a friend has just started taking steps towards getting a private pilot's license - definitely something to be proud of from what I've heard about the process, hope approvals go smoothly!

My favorite FR memory is when I first joined and didn't understand how the vaults worked, and thought I threw away 1,000 treasure. It took me several days to understand how to move items in and out of the vault... Smh!
