Finding dragons to breed, find nests to rent has been difficult, and all my saved dragons are so interbred I can't tell who is who anymore. I only have 60 dragons set aside for this, which hasn't been my largest amount for breeding project by far. Trying to make pairs to send to nesters literally takes hours every time I try and really is pushing me away from the site these days. She has become so complicated that I wanted to give up a couple months ago. He was born a couple months ago. Both projects were started at the same time. I finally found a new compatible dragon from the AH yesterday- a wildclaw. So I'm about to experience the long cooldown slice of absolute death. Most dragons that I find that I can use for this are G1s posted for hundreds of gems and aren't worth purchasing for this. I already have another dusthide waiting for Sailfish that I haven't been able to get. Even when I get her I'm betting getting her ready is going to take a while. I'm just going to scream [emoji=skull size=1] I've had a project almost take 2 years before and even that didn't make me want to put my head through a window like this one does. Everything keeps lining up to make sure this dragon will not exist.

7 months in, she's been a nightmare. Finding dragons to breed, find nests to rent has been difficult, and all my saved dragons are so interbred I can't tell who is who anymore. Ideally, both dragons in the pair will also be imps, but if one of them is a wildclaw or coatl, that’s fine too. I just started this breeding project earlier this month, so I’m not even close to the end yet.

Since I’m in Fire Flight, and I need her to have Nature eyes, my plan is to actually get a viable breeding pair with the right colors, and then rent a nature nest to get the final dragon. @Abbath Oh man she's gorgeous too. They'll look stunning with Plague eyes! I feel like having the mate done makes me more impatient on projects. (My project gal's mate came out better than the original project I had planned, so he's to blame for all this nonsense)

@Fumiku Oof, those genes are expensive but she'll be so worth it. Stunning! My project is partially drawn out because I'm too cheap to mess with buying gem genes ~~because I want to spend gems on UMAs instead~~. I feel like your gal being a pure gen 2 makes her just a bit more special though!

@yawfle Oh man she's so pretty! The eyes, the perfectly matched accent colors... *chef's kiss.* I can see why you're going all in on her. I don't have any pet/lode pairs in here but a bunch of the dragons in my project tab seem fairly close to what you're looking for: lots of Black/Obs primaries close to Eldritch, orange range secondaries, and Moon terts. If there's anything in that tab that looks close enough to what you're breeding for, let me know and I'll flag them not to exalt when I'm done with them!

@inuraichi Topcoat is criminally underrated and your gal is a prime example of how good it can look. Your dustie wears it so well!! The Sailfish accent peeks out so perfectly right near the wing too. Love!!

@Achaius Oooooh, stunning! Love! Foam/soap is always phenomenal and Boulder looks beautifully subtle here. Side note, I've got a lapis/lapis/watermelon-fuchsia tide/foam/soap or stained imperial pair that might spit out something close to what you need; if you think a baby off these two would help, I'd be happy to pull them out of the den for you! Also: WOW the cousin is stunning. I'm a sucker for rainbow sunset shenanigans.

@dataghosts Thank you; I need the luck! Lol. Especially since it's har/jes which isn't that popular in the colors I need. I got really lucky that someone was willing to sell me a weirdo fodder har/jes dragon in a range close to what I needed. I am drooling over your eyeburn pair. Perfect. No notes. Eclipse is beautiful and also the bane of my existence. Those two luxes are absolutely divine.

@StarrySunrise *grabby hands* another beautiful unconventional combo. Look at those accent colors. That's the kind of project you just know is going to demand an expensive UMA later. Those are very nice pinkies! Never seen an obie for that particular fandragon but upon retrospect it makes perfect sense.

@FableTheWolf Oh lord I do not envy you even a little bit. That girl is absolutely gorgeous, the accents are perfect, but having to rent all those nests and store all those breeders sounds awful. And then the breedchange/ gene project on top of that! One of the best things about being in ice is it's hard to argue with our eyes. I see you've got ancients woven into your project too which makes it even worse. You're the cautionary tale that makes me glad I meticulously labeled all my individual bloodlines and how far removed they are from the original dragons from the beginning. And as a side note: Leap year g2 imps set me back a fair bit too. Or, rather, one specific G2 imp. I picked up a double and he was by far the most expensive base dragon I have ever bought. He's gonna need a UMA too. And Primal.

@HoshiNoSenshi I'm not familiar with that creator but that dragon is beautiful!! Seems like Nature nests are in demand. Absolute worst case, NotN is coming up, so you should be able to pick up some noc scrolls cheap if you get desperate. Godspeed.

Oh, breeding is SO hard! I've only had one successful color project and that was SO difficult even though it was just white/white/gold range FROM dragons with the white/white/goldish range.

I have, let me count... Bought five dragons for this project, a bunch of gene scrolls (just Firebreather), one Breed Change scroll, and bred the winning pair of Male Imp/Female WC once and got three duds, one of which I am STILL trying to place even though the mates can breed tomorrow.

Saffron Primary, dark gray/black secondary, and a variety of purple tert color are SO rare. If you ever want those, I got 'em.

@Axqu Sorry i jusr had to reply because there's more pain to add to this. You'll love it. I actually have a spreadsheet. It's actually great but this project has outgrown its scale. it's bloated to the point that it's too visually difficult to parse efficiently and I have to do some serious coding to check for other parameters and it still wouldn't get me past assaying dozens of dragons (which is still better than like 40 per individual but still) And I don't have time to sit down and do that yet. It stays stuck on the work license so I can't bring it home to actually put time into it properly. My computer just really hates running the macros and I can't figure out why. Indigon is just layers upon layers of EVIL. She needs Nature eyes, because fandragon. I could switch her to earth but I also struggled finding hosts for Onbu so it wouldn't make anything better in the end. The 2 year project ended up having over 100 breedable dragons. But it was fine because over that time I had a nice collection of close ranges going and there was clear separation between the AH progenitors and their offspring. I also committed to finishing him out of pure stubbornness and just had to use up a scroll in the end anyway.
