here's two scries! both dust and gloom get the effect i want with this (a dark ring around the eyes), and make for some cool color palettes: one more dreamlike and cold, the other stark black and white.
i like the first one for its colder colors since you'll feel cold when sleep deprived, and with the purple, dreamy colors, it looks like a nightmare. the black and white also feels fitting though, like being pale from fear (and maybe from sleep deprivation side effects?).
i chose thylacine to further exaggerate the effect on the eyes, but it also looks like something clawing or reaching - like sleep's claws coming closer to drag this fae into a nightmare. it also helps makes the wings look a bit more like a void.

Plumage was a must, and I went with Laced and Edged because they looked like feathers too. The colours were chosen to look similar to a vulture, but I didn't stick to that too hard. I chose Female because the pose looked like she was swooping down to attack.

tapir and hypnotic both represent long words - sadly i couldn't find a tapir gene with a white base and black lines, though the inverted colors do have like. an evilness to it. carnivore represents ink spilling from the mouth as the written word, and the teeth as spoken words. i went with aberration since the two heads allow double the long words!
finally, i chose shadow dark eyes since they just gave a different vibe than regular, lively eyes. the hollowness of it is like how those feared words arent sentient, theyre just there, unchanging and uncaring.
a lot of this was also to differ from previous long-words-phobia scries - i avoided runes and undertide/spiral specifically. ive had this idea (tapir and carnivore) for a while since i saw those similar scries (not to say theyre bad - theyre great but i like being different/challenging myself lol).

I decided to go with the obvious choice of multigaze, then used orb because they're remniscent of wide-open eyes, added in eye spot and peacock for more open eye motifs, then chose a breed and colours to make them stand out as much as possible.
