I think this was more of a "beginning of something big to come" than just an anniversary breed drop. (also, depending on how you play, a new breed is new gameplay!) [/quote] I'm not too confident on the arrival of adventure mode since they have been announcing it every since I've joined the site seven years ago. I'm pretty sure adventure mode will not be a reality for at least another year. I really hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it. I think you've missed my point about new gameplay. I think the term I was looking for is "new game mechanic". A new breed isn't a new mechanic, but eyes, ancients and achievements were. My disappointment is that we don't get new mechanics during the year except for the anniversary, and we didn't get one this year. I already feel like a once a year new game mechanic is very little for a game as huge as FR, so I'm sad we didn't get one at all this year. Honestly if you're already fully satisfied with how the site works and aren't hoping for new game mechanics, this update is amazing. The Fathoms are GORGEOUS. But I feel like people like me (who are waiting for the anniversary to get a new mechanic) were really left behind.
