Edel (ger.) gallant, adjective: (of a person or their behaviour) brave; heroic.
Wild (engl.), adjective: (of an animal or plant) living or growing in the natural environment; not domesticated or cultivated.
In the verdant realms where nature and divinity intertwine, there exist sacred groves guarded by venerable trees imbued with the essence of the divine. These ancient sentinels, known as Edel Wilds, stand tall and proud, their branches reaching towards the heavens in reverence to the gods they serve.
You mortal, may have never heard of these dragons as they are most often metamorphosed into trees and in a dormant state.
It is murmured, that the gods, moved by the devotion of mortals, bestowed upon selected trees the sacred duty of safeguarding their holy sanctuaries. These dragons, chosen for their strength, wisdom, and unwavering loyalty, became the custodians of the sacred places where other dragons came to pay homage and seek guidance from their divine patrons.
Their presence is a testament to the power and benevolence of the gods, a silent testament to the bond between the mortal realm and the divine.
To trespass upon these sacred groves is to invite the wrath of the gods themselves, for the Guardians are not merely trees but living embodiments of divine authority. Those who approach with ill intent find themselves ensnared by the roots of the earth or struck down by the thunderous fury of nature unleashed.
Yet, for those who come in reverence and humility Edel Wilds are there to protect and offer their guidance and these noble trees will continue to watch over the sacred places where heaven and earth meet, their roots anchored deep in the soil repeling the shade and other mean spirits.
When the need arises and the divine decree is given, the ancient trees awaken from their dormant state, their roots stirring with the pulsing energy of ancient magic. As the call of their deity resonates through the sacred groves, the Edel Wilds begin a majestic transformation, shedding their bark and leaves to reveal their true form.
As dragons, they embody the raw power ot their element itself, their presence striking awe and fear into the hearts of mortals. Yet, their purpose remains steadfast—to carry out the will of their god and fulfill the sacred mission entrusted to them.
Whether it be to vanquish a great evil that threatens the balance of the world, to bestow blessings upon others or minor looking task, that will change the futur of all dragon kind if accomplished, the Edel Wilds heed the call of their divine master with unwavering loyalty and determination.
However, such transformations are not without consequence. Once their mission is complete and the will of their god fulfilled, the dragon Guardians must return to their arboreal form, their dragonic essence merging once more to ancient trees.
