I uhhhhh decided to start this because as far as I know, there are no threads relating to rock/mineral/fossil sharing or identification!
If you have some cool rocks, minerals, or fossils to share, please do! I can try my best at identification, though I'm not the best at it

I've never been more sad that I don't have my collection with me (Stuck at college) :( I love collecting rocks and fossils! Everywhere I go, I add some to the collection

Oh wow! If you hadn't said those were crinoid fossils I would've thought they were old metal springs suspended in a cement chunk; I've never seen them look like that, only examples like Mynty's pic.
I have to look around for my collection - they're scattered around the house as decor and I'm not sure where they've all run off to.

I need to grab my giant agate to show off here.

Mynty that's exactly why I love the great lakes region! The geography is so cool, and provides so many cool opportunities to find amazing things! Everything in the second post is actually from Lake Cumberland, KY, which is primarily composed of sandstone & shale which preserved the fossils quite nicely :D
And that is such and incredible find just because it's so silly looking! I love it so much omg
@
SkykidNadir same here! Whenever I'm away from home I always find something to bring back lol
@
eggod just as I mentioned to Mynty, these ones where well preserved because if the sedimentary nature of the geography, so of course in certain places they may be hard to find... but don't give up!

luckydragonwolf oooh please do!

I finally grabbed the agate, it was pretty buried in my hoard of rocks but I managed to get it!
I found it on a dirt trail behind this trailer park that's right next to the freeway. The trail's decently hidden, all the way at the back, and you need to go across an aging wooden bridge. There's this playground not far away from the trailer park - in fact, there's a path going underneath the freeway to get there. I'm surprised I found it in a place like that, since I've seen people walking these dirt trails before, and even fourwheeling on them!
It was a super neat find though. I should get it polished.
