All knew the clan was under turmoil, going from one patriarch to the next, not a matriarch to be seen in the bunch. The dark ridgeback had come in the night, layered in fine silks and with beguiled words so honeyed and smooth it melted the callous hearts of the clan. The ridgeback promised to the clan glory and treasure, his leadership guaranteed to draw them success in their continued lives of disgust and shallow deeds. The once leader of the clan, however, did not see to have his rule challenged by some young usurper. The two dark ridgebacks clashed, and the then-leader was ultimately faded to serving beneath the blighted plague bringer in the heavens, cast away from the world by the silk laden challenger. Now Tar sits upon his proverbial throne, his poisonous tongue and sharp wit ready to challenge any creature that dares try and do to him what he had done to others to achieve his rank. The clan he took over has accepted his stead, allowed him to stay. After all, his offspring fetch a decent price on the black market. Who can argue someone who earns them a fair bit of treasure now and then?[/i]
