No luck in the gathering, but been so lucky with getting eggs from chests in the coli! I am staying in level 20+ areas. Been giving some of the eggs away to people. Got a few breed change scrolls and other goodies. I feel bad for those getting the bad side of rng. This is the first Noct Event I have had any good rng in.

Reading through this thread just reinforces my belief that RNG is just the bane of our existence.
First day of the event I got over 5 chests from gathering, then for several days I got 0, and it got to a point where I had to double check that they were indeed from any gathering in any area. Now I'm back to getting a few every day.
I've been grinding in the coli on and off only 2 or 3 days so far and have gotten quite a lot of chests (probably around 10 eggs, 2 scrolls, and I have almost all the new apparel and familiars), and pretty decent drops of the materials needed for swipp trades.
Admittedly I have had some issues getting the right trades from swipp, but I do usually see at least one that is event related if not for chests.
All in all, I don't think anything has changed in the drop rates at all, it's just unfortunately possible to end up too far on either side of the spectrum - really lucky or really unlucky. I've been on both, even during this event with the gathering, not much we can do about it.
