"I don't know," Cain replied honestly. "I don't really know much about the other houses, really... but I know Slytherin is the best because my family is really nice and they're all from Slytherin." He finished, convinced. He had a really biased opinion of Slytherin, but his family wasn't evil or cold or exceedingly proud or something like that, not that he knew of; he didn't know about the house's reputation, he had never been told about all of the dark wizards and witches that had belonged there.

"Slytherin must be cool then," the girl said with a grin. "I think my mom was in Slytherin too, and it would be super cool if I could be in the same house that she was in. If Slytherin's are nice, then I want to be one," Evette added proudly. Calcifer yowled as if in agreement and stood up to stretch before moving to her lap. He pawed at her hand and she scratched behind his ear, smiling at the ball of fluff.

"I bet all of the cool kids are in Slytherin!!" Cain went on happily, and added with determination. "If your mom was in there you'll surely be, too."
Thadius snored quietly, unaware of his surroundings, and Cain grew more excited as the outside scenery passed by: he wanted to reach the castle as soon as possible, and with this new Slytherin friend, his fears of arriving alone vanished. He had a good feeling about everything, not even the exams and all the tests scared him a bit.

Evette nodded in agreement, finally able to feel excitement without feeling nervous as well. She had already made a friend and was positive that they would be in the same house together. They'd go through their seven years as friends, with inside jokes and laughing at other students silly or stupid mistakes. That's what friends at magical schools did, right? The young girl moved to sit with her legs crossed, causing Calcifer to huff and jump off of her lap. He moved to Cain and snuggled up against the boy's side, purring loudly.
"It seems that he likes you," the girl noticed with a laugh. As she was about to say more a knock came at their compartment door and it was opened to reveal an older looking but kind woman pushing a trolly. "Hello children," she said warmly. "Would either of you two like anything off of the trolly? You children get first pick so all the good stuff is still left."

The boy stretched and yawned, getting impatient and eager for the train to arrive to the school. Evette's cat came up to his side, demanding attention, and he caressed his soft back, smiling at the girl's remark; cats were really cool, he thought.
Just then, the door opened, and an old lady peered in. She pulled a trolly, packed with candy and other sweets, and asked if they wanted something. The mere sight of the candy made his stomach protest, and he looked through his pockets for some money: luckily he had some. "Could I get five chocolate frogs, please?" He asked.

"Of course dear," she said with a smile. As she rummaged in the cart to grab the goodies, Evette leaned towards him. The woman finally found the sweets she was looking for and handed the oddly shaped boxes to the young man, taking his coins as she did so. Turning towards Evetter, she smiled and asked, "Anything for you dear?"
Evette glanced at the cart and then at Cain, shuffling awkwardly. "Um, I don't really know what the candies are. I've never had any of them before." It was somewhat embarrassing to admit yet another thing that she knew nothing about within the wizarding world. The old witch smiled kindly and pulled out a basket full of goodies. "In that case, you'll be wanting the basket. It's got nearly everything in it and even a few surprises. Don't eat it all at once or you'll get sick." Evette handed her a few of the coins and the witch closed their door.
"These look normal enough," Evette guessed eventually, pulling out a box of Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Bean. Popping a green one in her mouth, her face immediately soured. "Why does it taste like grass?"

Cain gave the money to the lady and smiled sweetly at her, eagerly hurrying to open the first box. He stopped with Evette's comment, and remembered her half-magic heritage: she0d never had any magical candy before, though?? He remained silent as he tried to remember something his mom said about a candy shop in Hogsmeade, but the lady of the trolley spoke first, and offered a basket of every kind of sweet she had to the little girl. That was really kind, he thought.
Both thanked her as she walked on, and he glanced at his friend, opening a box he knew well enough. He chuckled once she mentioned grass flavour. "Those are called Berty Bott's Every Flavour Beans, and they come in every flavour you can imagine. Don't touch any brown or yellow one if you want to live, I once got one that tasted like... well, better save that for later, but you get the idea. Most are harmless tho!"

She wrinkled her nose at the box and set it aside. If they really did come in every flavor, she'd rather not find out what all of those flavors were and how accurate they might be. Turning her attention back to the basket, she pulled out something labeled "Sugar Quill." Evette touched the feather part of it and was surprised at how soft and smooth it was. If she didn't know any better, she'd say that it a normal quill, other than the fact that it was bright blue. Shrugging, she gave the candy and experimental lick. Her blue-grey eyes widened and she sucked on the quill for a moment.
"This thing is so good!" she exclaimed, looking towards Cain with shining eyes. "It's super sugary and stuff and reminds me a little bit of pop rocks. Like little mini explosions in your mouth." Evette stuck the candy in her mouth once more and laughed a little bit. "This one is probably going to be my favorite out of everything." She let the candy hang from her mouth as she looked through the rest of the basket for anything else that looked interesting. Glancing up at her friend, she took the candy out of her mouth to say, "You're welcome to share this with me. I don't think I'll be able to eat all of this even if I wanted to."
((@Tunquen Sorry about my disappearance.School started two weeks ago and it's been crazy since then. I've also been sick more often than I would have liked to be and because of that, I was careful to go to bed at a good time... which was usually when I completed my homework at 10:30. I'll try not to let my absences stretch out so long next time XD ))

((Ohhh don't worry!! School is hell, I know xD Really, don't worry! Now that I know the reason you're busy I totally understand! I hope your health gets better!))
Cain diverted himself in watching his new friend discovering the sweets he so well knew. It must have been exciting to try them for the first time, he thought: he had known them since he was a baby, so he grew up with them. He chuckled at the sugar quill. "Those are cool because they also write, the tip is real." He explained. "Blue's my favourite, it tastes really good."
With the mention of something called 'pop rocks', or something like that, he became curious, and after swallowing one of his chocolate frogs he asked: "What kind of candy do you know? What do muggles eat?"
