You have tiger eyes, her mother says, laughing as she reaches up and bats playfully at her mother’s nose. They catch fire in the day, and shine golden at night.

She grows up strong and healthy, a strapping young snapper with a spirit that blazes with the fire of a hundred suns. Hey eyes are bright and clear; good signs in a young dragon. Her clan is a happy one, full of joy and laughter.

@Shadowedlullaby I have this lady up for sale right now. She comes with both art and lore, if that interests you at all (I'm open to expanding on her lore to a more complex bio, if you're interested). I can do a hold/payment plan if she's too far out of your current price range. (I also have a shop for dragons with art and lore here, if you'd like to be added to a pinglist or anything, since Thalassa's the only one I have up for sale at the moment). Her parents taught her to read at a very young age and began to give her books on philosophy. She devoured the books eagerly. When she was young, Mycena spent a lot of her time in a treehouse near the edge of the central clan area. The treehouse was constantly filled with books on a wide range of topics which varied over the years, but always centered on philosophy. When she learned to write fairly legibly, Mycena began sending letters to the authors of these books whenever she felt she had a thought that needed to be discussed; several of them wrote back, and a few even became regular correspondents. During her adolescent years, Mycena apprenticed with an Imperial from the Windswept Plateau. Her name was Koharu and she was a Dreamwalker, a dragon with the ability to navigate the dream world and learn from the minds of dragons both alive and dead to see what they knew and just as much what they didn't know consciously, but represented in their dreams. Mycena was always fascinated by the world of dreams because was a physical manifestation of thought, knowledge, perception, and other aspects of minds that had never even been discovered in the waking world. In the dream world one could see, hear, and touch the connections between perception and knowledge; between knowledge and opinion; between conscious thought and every process that went on behind it. If you only knew where and how to look, you could see very real representations of things even as nebulous as 'self'. And if you looked hard enough and were able to make some lucky educated guesses, you might be able to see exactly what components went into something like the self, or knowledge, and the causes and effects of small bits of thought. But as anyone who has tried their hand at dream interpretation knows, it is a realm that yields far more questions than answers. The mysteries seem to multiply at greater and greater rates the further one ventures into the dream world in search of some answer or another. Many dragons were scared away by this endless sea of questions, discouraged that they had no hope of finding all the answers, but Mycena felt right at home. Despite her fascination with and affinity for the dream realm and all the complexities within it, Mycena was never able to travel through dreams on her own. The few times she tried ended in dangerous situations that she may not have survived if Koharu hadn't been there to pull her consciousness back into the waking world. After a while, Mycena reluctantly decided to stop trying and move on to other ways of finding questions; although Koharu told her that she was always willing to be her guide if she ever needed to travel to the dream world again. Armed with the immense knowledge and even more immense volume of questions, problems, and mysteries she had gathered in the dream world, Mycena withdrew into her own lair and began writing books. She found that the kind of logic necessitated by the dream world had taught her how to think in pictures and movements; and she often drew out pages of shapes and arrows and tangled lines, incomprehensible to any other dragon, but that somehow made perfect sense once she had converted them into words and explanations. Shortly after abandoning her dream quest to write, however, Mycena felt the inexplicable need for a change of scenery and decided to set up shop in the clan of a former correspondent. As a likable dragon who could carry on an engaging conversation, but still mostly kept to herself, she was accepted quickly into the clan. She ended up with a fairly large lair space for the first time in her life, and wasted no time in filling it with books, papers, and amusements. While Mycena has no magical ability of her own, she collects trinkets that wouldn't be at all out of place in a witch's lair. Crystals and bones are scattered about her shelves, bundles of flowers and herbs hang from her ceiling rafters, and incense sends swirling smoke through the air. Possibly because of her time with the Dreamwalker, Mycena tends to favor the art and symbolism of the Windswept Plateau. Even the margins of her scrolls are always covered in swirls and spirals reminiscent of winds from gentle breezes or the eye of the Twisting Crescendo. Now Mycena spends most of her time reading and writing about various philosophical questions; sometimes writing letters and notes to other philosophers, Koharu, or her family; and occasionally going out and discussing all manner of things with the dragons she meets in the clan. She's known for being friendly and intelligent as well as a homebody, and while her true friends are few and far between, almost everybody she talks to becomes a friendly acquaintance. She never passes up the chance to make someone think about a conundrum if they seem willing, and if they don't then she tries to pry a conundrum out of them, something she herself can contemplate. Many dragons value her for her answers or her ability to make them think of answers themselves, but as always, Mycena is always truly on a journey to search for questions-- and there is no shortage of those if you only know where to look.
