just bonded with all my familiars and no mums lol. curious on what the rate is! definitely less than those bird prince things
Maybe we could gather some very committed data takers to start reporting their familiar bonding data:

How many familiars did you bond with today?

What drops did you receive from bonding today (if any)?
It would be a very long process, but we might be able to get at least an idea of what kind of drop rates we're dealing with. And god knows we have people here who LOVE recording data.

its me, im people who love recording data. we may want to make another thread for this eventually.... (im not volunteering, i do love data but im also crazy busy and theres no guarantee i'd have the mental bandwidth to actually do anything '^^) but for now this is good!
including fiona fams, i bonded with 62 familiars
and got the following:
[item=white-eared hummingbird]
......thats it.

The name alone has sparked many arguments over whether or not birds really have ears.

I'm open to creating the thread as well as a Form and Sheet to record and spit out data. Would probably take a minute to do so, but it could potential help run things smoothly.

Bonded with all 392 of my fams yesterday and I got a single gravel and a single mum. Looking forward to being able to actually get mums now in case they ever give Everlux the one gene.

stars please don't get me wrong it's such a good update for everyone i understand it was such an issue i'm not gonna sit here and whine "bad update bad update" just because its sad for me
but i was specifically levelling my foraging for the past eon just for these mums and i'm at 29 rn so i'm a little sad :'(
(again though, genuinely was an issue, i get a lot of people disliked it)

Well, you can have more mums than people relying only on bonding.
Bonding is a small chance, and the pool is filled with other items that are not mums, and it's only one at a time.
You have more chance for mums with gathering and if you do get a roll with mums, you have more than one.

i get the thought, but i do think it will change quite a bit, yes. everyone on this site can bond with familiars, and a significant amount bonds with 50-200 fams per day.
the chance of a singular person gathering mums in a single day is probably low, yes, but the sheer amount of people all bonding negates that significantly for the price of mums

I'm happy about the change because I think it's a good way of adding a new method of acquiring some hard to get items without flooding the market. I think it'll bring prices down a bit but maintain some of the challenge of getting enough mums. Personally I'd like to see [item=Sand Creeper] added to the list too.
As far as stats go, I've bonded with ~110 familiars yesterday and again today and here's my results.
Yesterday:
[item=Golden Birdskull Necklace]

Sand Creeper

This species of ivy can blanket whole swaths of sand. Even when culled, it seems to reemerge out of nowhere.

A loose-hanging fetish of skulls and golden charms. The feathers are said to have medicinal properties for the wearer if held close to the heart.
