Alu has no sense of direction. And not in the mundane "where did I park my Zeeba" sense, but in a profound, "cannot reliably travel from his chambers to the bathroom" sense. As a result, he goes nowhere without a compass and a dozen maps, not to mention a reliable familiar to act as his guide.
Over the years, Alu has learned to enjoy being perpetually lost, viewing each day as a new adventure and delighting in rediscovering familiar places. Most days, this attitude works just fine for him, and few dragons realize that this approach is deliberate and difficult to maintain. Some days are harder than others, and every once in a while, he snaps: flies into a rage, or spends days in bed, refusing to venture out. Many dragons who love the easy-going, adventurous Alu don't understand or sympathize with his bad days, and his apparent instability bewilders them.
Alu collects live songbirds, and his chambers are always full of song (and bird poop).
Boo turned the last egg over again. The other two had hatched already, but this one remained whole, still and unmoving. Her mate had given up on it already, but the old Guardian was patient and hopeful. Curling up over her nest once more, Boo settled in for the long haul. Soon she dozed off, and dreamed of walking across the Ashfall Waste. The earth burned the pads of her feet, growing hotter with every step. Waking suddenly, Boo realized the pain was all too real. The charred eggshell crumbled into ash before her eyes, revealing the tiniest hatchling she'd ever seen. Sparks glowed in his sooty scales. As Boo lifted him from the ruined nest, his little body scalded her.
She named him Maunakea.
Though no other clan would take him, the matriarch would not allow Kea and his curse to stay. The day he left, his tears left scorch marks in the grass. His father could not watch, but Boo would not look away. Every time Kea glanced over his shoulder, he met his mother's eyes. Eventually, he learned not to look.
Wandering was miserable. He hated the rain, he hated the cold, but most of all, he hated the loneliness. To this day, he speaks very little about that time in his life.

@juncosongs ;_; Can I be on the pinglist for both, and may I buy Maunakea? Also gonna save this for later :3
Of course! 'Kea is on his way over via CR right now for 10,000t (if you'd prefer an alternate means of payment lemme know--we can work something out)
Also, Wick and Pumpkin will be hatching a new nest in a couple of days, so stay tuned! After that, I plan to hold onto Boo and Skoll so they hatch their nest June 13 :)

@juncosongs Awesome, I'll definitely be waiting for that ping :3 Also~ How much would it cost for you to write lore for him? I love your style :3 totally hasn't been stalking through the pairs and mentions in their bios

I generally charge 7,000t (or 10g) for 250 words (if you order another one later on, returning customers get a loyalty discount of 15%)
If that sounds good to you, would the style I used on this profile be ok? And are there any details you'd like me to include in his personality/history?

BIOGRAPHY
Dark blood runs in this dragon’s veins. Many years ago, Maunakea's parents ran afoul of a grumpy mage. To this day, each of their hatchlings bears a unique curse, each more horrible than the last.
Whenever Maunakea's mood darkens, his scales begin to spark and blacken as if burning from within. When he cries, flame wells in his eyes and trickles down his cheeks in rivulets of flame.

PERSONALITY
Despite towering over most other dragons, Kea thinks small. Soft-spoken and compliant, he prefers to let other dragons do the talking. Though quiet in social situations, Kea's impatience leads him to rash bravery in almost any other situation, which often gets him into trouble during scavenging expeditions.
To many a roommate's horror, the Guardian hoards bees, of all things. He makes up for it by supplying his clan mates with honey and candles.
