I love my Dusthide!:)
I love them so much!! Their little graspy front legs make them just a little bit insect-like, and the unique genes are really fun! Thanks team for working so hard!

@MmmHowAboutNo i mean... if you were an earthy creature, wouldn't it be the point to have your head be blank or at least without any protruding elements that would make it harder to dig? [...]
the one thing i don't get is why they'd be given the Antlers gene, now that is significantly useless to earthy dragons like that. they'd just get in the way 24/7 and also, how do you even roll into a ball with these attached to your head...

YESSSS I HAVE BEEN SAYING THIS SINCE THEY CAME OUT lol. Antlers would just smash the second they tried to roll through a rock, or worse, get driven into their brains and kill 'em dead D:
Don't get me wrong, I love the gene design, and can't wait for it to be extended to some other breeds, but they really should have gone with a more solid set of horns for these guys. Something like the rams' horn apparel we can't actually use. The antlers just make me twitchy on dusties.
Other than that, I'm loving them! Especially Spores. @chyannethewolf yours are gorgeous! [emoji=dusthide love size=1] Feeling a bit bummed that they brought in Wavecrest right on the heels of Veil though. Feels too similar, like it's just the adult version of the same gene.
Also I have no idea what the original article said but what it currently reminds me of is the family from an old British soap 'Bread' (set in Liverpool) - or Terry Pratchett's Wee Free Men. Neither of which are entirely free from cultural stereotyping, however well intentioned...
But I don't see what's wrong with their stories having differences, that's just the way they are, like a bunch of enthusiastic but not terribly painstaking friends who hang around telling one another tall tales! (Something my own Germano-Celtic ancestors excelled at.) I am pleased that FR pays attention to players and potential PC issues, but I think they need to stop being so trigger happy about correcting themselves based off the first influx of comments. What they really need is a cultural PR manager, not just a new writer, and they need to beta test ideas. I get the feeling none of this stuff gets seen beyond the very small staff team until its release, and then chaos ensues... And meanwhile, the antlers issue is entirely overlooked!
