Unlike her elder sister Elsie, Katarina is not good with mechanics. This has led to Kastra being disappointed, as he was hoping to have his own line of dragons that are mechanically inclined. While he has tried to hide his disappointed, Katarina has picked up on it and feels that she'll never be as good as Elsie. Elsie is aware of her younger sibling feeling inferior and has gifted her a dragon golem as a gift, thinking it could be a good friend to her. Said golem has a budding AI and Elsie hopes that it can further the small but growing field of AIs. Katarina loves it and is grateful to her sister for it, but it also serves as a reminder of what she's unable to do. While she has tried her hand at helping and building golems and other mechanical things, she just isn't good at it and has been chastised by Kastra for messing up. As a result, she's hesitant to go into the lab portion of the lair. Spira is supportive of her and has tried to get Kastra to be more understanding. It's hard for him, given his nature, but he really doesn't want Katarina to feel bad that she's not like her sister. So, while he'll still be blunt, he'll also try to soften the blow. Carwyn has asked her if she'd be better at protecting the Clan under Joseff. Caide has also voiced support for her trying at that. Katarina gave it some thought, and decided it would be best as she didn't want to help with watching the nests, isn't good at stealth or anything of that nature, horrible at magic and isn't interested in hunting and gathering. When she came to her decision, Carwyn and Caide were most pleased and have decided to take her under their wings. She considers them to be excellent friends and have helped her greatly with trying to build up her self esteem. She is quite shy, but once others get to know her, she'll talk a lot-and quite quickly. Katarina does have a need to be always doing something and as such, she doesn't care for her other sibling Sycune. He is more on the lazy side and likes to lounge about watching the hatchlings. When not doing Clan Protection work, she does like to make pottery. She finds it to be an excellent stress relief. Jet has taken note of her skill and the two come up with projects together. On occasion, Inya will show up and sometimes all three find a way to combine their crafts together. Cymophane bumped into Katarina one day while lost in thought. While irritated, she did notice what it was that he was working on and was able to poke a few holes through his project as to why it wouldn't work. When she said something, Cymophane took note and then found out that she was right. He now enjoys talking to her about his projects and getting her feedback on them as to if it would or not and why. After awhile together, he asked her to be his mate and she agreed. This turn of events has helped her confidence; while she isn't able to actually do anything mechanical she is still quite logical and gives Cymophane an outside opinion. her knowledge led to the Lightweaver blessing her with marking signifying her intelligence.
