Luna

I was raised in the Southern Icefield since not long after I hatched, growing up under the guidance of other Gaolers. I, like all, was expected to take up a role guarding the Fortress of Ends when I was old enough. I did, with an eagerness to take part in keeping the realm safe from the monstrosities locked deep in the ice. It was far from pleasant, though.. I saw so many horrors in that place, I eventually couldn't keep witnessing the living nightmares. For my own sanity, I left without a word one night. I had no idea where I was going, but anywhere had to be better than there. If the rest of the world was like that... It was a scary thought. The Fortress was absolutely terrifying, the growls and groans haunting me long after.

I wandered for a while, so long that I lost track of how long it had been. I only knew that no matter how much distance was put between me and that place, the memories would continue to keep me up at night, relentless. I never thought anything would change.. until I met Casimir. He helped me realize that though what plagued me would never disappear, I didn't have to keep it so close. I could never forget, but I could learn, and I could learn to let go.
