Hatched into the Water Flight, Nicht was lucky to have parents like Conch and Seaspray. They cared about her a lot, and always supported her when she was into detective work.

Seaspray told her a story about the Tidelord, the kind but mysterious god of the Seas. Nicht, excited, flew towards the Levithan Trench to meet him. Only to find nothing in the big conch the Tidelord resides in.

When Nicht came back, her head hung low, Seaspray told her that the Tidelord had gone missing for years. That sparked the detective spirit inside her, as she quickly went off to work with her classmates at school.

When she graduated, Conch and Seaspray gave her a familiar, their treasured Tsunami Gem Guardian, Crystal. Crystal became Nicht's most loyal assistant and follows her everywhere.

After graduation, Nicht continued to work as a detective, and she quickly became famous all over the Sea of A Thousand Currents. But her true element and powers were starting to show. One day, she asked Conch, "why is my water pink but yours blue?"

"It's because your water is special, and it symbolizes that you're a great detective," Conch replied. Nicht smiled.

A case arrived, called by a dragon named Kira, called "The Case of the Missing Exalt", that will change Nicht's life.

Kira told her that her exalted dragon went missing instead of going into a deity's lair. When Nicht asked about that dragon, Kira said that the dragon's name is Adroit and refused to tell her more. That caused Nicht to be suspicious of Kira.

Kira led Nicht to the exalting gate and the train where the dragon escaped. Nicht gathered some clues, then came to a surprising result:

That Adroit Kira was talking about...was a Naomi.

Nicht told Kira about it, then Kira laughed and said that she already knew. Nicht flared at Kira, "Why didn't you tell me?" and went off to solve the case herself.

They traced the escaping dragon to the Crystalspine Reaches, to a crystal spine that...seems normal. Until Nicht dove down and found out that it had a series of undersea tents around it, bobbing up and down.

Weird.

When Nicht requested to come in, a burly Guardian dragon stopped her. "Hey, kid, this is not somewhere you'd want to go to," that brown dragon said.

"I'm Detective Nicht, this is my assistant Crystal, and I request to go in because of - AHHHH!" Nicht was about to finish introducing herself when the dragon suddenly attacked. Nicht defended herself with her pink water, just like Seaspray had taught her. The dragon backed away.

"This isn't how Arcane dragons fight!" he yelled at Nicht.

"Well, I'm not..." Nicht suddenly hushed. Arcane? Not water? She's a water dragon all along! She couldn't be from another element and not know it...

"Of course, Arcane!" The Guardian dragon said. "Your magical energy is pink and wispy. And your eyes are pink, Arcane eyes."

Nicht never wondered what color her eyes are. She thought they were black. "Take me inside." She commanded the dragon, later known as Soil.

And then she figured out. This was the place where the missing exalt went. This was the Star Skies, one of the most secretive outlaw clans in the Starfall Isles.

But Nicht decided to make their story public. The Star Skies don't deserve to be hunted down, they deserved to be know to all, their legacy should be always remembered. They are not just outlaws, they are heroes. Heroes who do everything to make sure dragons have a happy home instead of being just exalted.

Nicht's article went on the Sorineth Newspaper and it was a huge success. She met Gloria and Adroit shortly after in the Star Skies and Gloria told her something unsettling. Apparently that Nocturne was her...sister????? Gloria also told her that she was born to legendary rescuers Bluebird and Caelus, and that her egg dropped into the Sea of a Thousand Currents when her parents were on a mission.

Nicht doesn't want to accept this, but she treated Gloria and her parents more like friends. After all, there's even more mysteries waiting to be solved, right?
