Cote brazenly stepped into the entrance to the lair with his back laden with books and baubles and his arms filled with scrolls and odd devices.

He claimed to be an expert on the paranormal and was convincingly adamant about this lair being built on sacred ground, most assuredly haunted. Promising to rid the clan of any angry spirits, Cote cleared out a space for himself in the rock and has been difficult to dislodge ever since.

Cote loves to talk about anything spiritual, and when a conversation on such things is initiated he has trouble ceasing. Most find his babbling endearing as he makes valiant attempts to be interested in and talk about other things, but fails every time. He is incredibly polite when spoken to, and has a small stutter.

He is popular with the hatchlings and young dragons for his tales and ghost tours. He's even opened his cavern to small tour groups as his shelves are packed with all sorts of oddities. Some visitors have even arrived just to see such things. Cote's efforts are not wasted and he's discovered much about the earth clan that was here before, and as he finds information the tale becomes all the more baffling. The story has become a little bit of an obsession for more than just one dragon in Shenani Clan.
In his early years here, he'd run into trouble with the clan sentries as he used to adventure beyond clan territory or into iffy areas of the lair. The number of times the soldiers have rescued him is up in the triple digits, but his thirst for knowledge has not wavered in the slightest. Hallow has brought up more than a few times the proposition to instate a personal guard for him, and her efforts were not in vain. Estellise was assigned with the task of keeping Cote safe, and neither of the two were happy with the idea.

Estellise prefers isolation, but takes her duties as a sentry very seriously, and does her job well. Cote would have preferred a dragon with a sense of humor, or even a dragon that could smile once in a while, (or no company at all) but Estellise does not appear to possess either ability. Lately he's begun to appreciate that she does appear to listen to him when he's rambling, and occasionally responds appropriately. Oh, and she's saved his life numerous times.

He's taken to calling her "Ghost" after meeting her for the first time under unofficial circumstances. Over time, he and Ghost would be joined by his energetic sister Zeria, and later acclaimed author Lorathyra. He appears to enjoy having an audience on his investigations, although he can't always please the whole crowd.

One such disgruntled dragon would be Oresith, nicknamed "Sith" by Cote. The young hatchling grew up to be a fierce denier of the paranormal and frequently contests Cote's history of the territory with his own accumulated evidence from books.

Eugh. Doesn't he know those can be tainted by the writer's censorship and opinions? Surely there's nothing of value there.
