Clan of the Whispering Ruins
"All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream"
- Edgar Allen Poe
A clan shrouded in mystery, the territory lies on the outskirts of a Dream - just behind the veil of the Waking and the Dreaming.
Rumor has passed that if one follows the winding paths through the Tangled Wood, lined with bioluminescent mushrooms and flowers, where soft whispers and songs flit in and out of hearing - and if the need is great enough - one might accidentally find themselves passing between the gnarled white oak trees that act as a doorway between the two realities.
The shock, some say, is unsettling. One moment walking through a black, misty forest with nothing but a gentle glow and whispers for guides, and then the next the forest simply opens up. Tall, dark trees make way immediately for taller trees with lush green foliage - some littered with colorful flowers and fruit and the sky briefly peeked underneath the thick leaves of that all trees that have no business being anywhere within such a dark, and gloomy forest. Sometimes, if one is lucky, they might encounter one of the fair folk: A friendly man taking the appearance of an imperial, who might invite the more healthy deeper into his garden for food and entertainment.
If luck and knowledge of the fair folk and their scattered customs be on one's side, they might eventually leave His fair company and garden and make their way into the city.
At first glance, it appears to be ruins, broken spires, walls, and half collapses homes. If one takes a longer look the moonlight above reveals the home of the Moonlit Haven. Broken spires and walls reveal sleek silver and onyx architecture and caved in homes make way for small and cozy little dwellings where fairy lights or candles always seem to glow. The inhabitants are cheerful, polite, and welcoming. They offer shelter, healing, food, drink, entertainment, healing, protection and friendship to all who venture in.
At the center of the mysterious city sits the most mysterious of all, a grand temple reaching high up into the sky as if to embrace the splendid moon that always seems to remain fixed in the sky. The rumors of the temple are even fewer than that of the clan itself. Only the ground floor is open to guests, and those sneaky enough to try going higher explain in exasperated whispers that there is not anyway higher. No doors. No hallways. The smooth silver and onyx un-scaleable.
The only payments that are requested take the form of secrets and stories, which are then locked away in the Library deep within the Temple to be sold, traded, or used as blackmail. However, Secrets are not the only treasures the clan keeps. Cases upon cases of scrolls, bestiaries, lore, legends and research line the circular, spiraling walls containing vast knowledge. No outsiders can claim to have seen the Library, let alone the doors leading inside. It is unknown what the clan did, or does with this knowledge...but there are whispers of mysterious assassins and hunters blessed by the Night and watched over by the Moon.

(Everything is a bit of a revamp...all the time. It's never ending. I kind of get it together and suddenly it's all overhauled again. When will it end?)

Heya! Lillith got her custom accent recently, and is up to level 25! I'm having a raincheck on the art I was making for her though as I'm kind of in an art block but I'm about halfway through ^^
Absolutely! :)
I know right? I even commissioned one of my favorite artists to make a custom accent for her second head as an emperor. I they updated me today and I'm super excited for it to be sent out when it's done! I'm working on my own piece of art for her as well!
That's awesome. I'm glad to see they're still around as well! I recently got Lillith from a rescue and I've spoiled her totally rotten. I've been looking for the perfect dragon to take on her character, and I'm so happy to have her ^^
Happy birthday to Aquilo! I ironically bought his old breeding partner, Lillith (Who went by a different name) and was checking him out. He's five today :D
