Ran and Tarnse are the leaders of their nameless clan, and settled in the Starwood Strand. The clan is almost entirely made up of transient people who either purposefully or accidentally fell through the interdimensional rift upon which the clan is settled. Many members of the clan were not originally born as dragons, but are either natural shapeshifters, or took on a draconic form once they had entered Sornieth. Some fell through the portal without meaning to, but others fled a grim past in search of a better life.
Ran and Tarnse were born from the magic of the Arcanist, though Ran was born on the Plague border, and has thus been influenced by the magic of the Plaguebringer as well. They met while travelling independently, and accidentally created an entire clan. They are not kind, and neither are the clan members that they have recruited. The nameless clan on the rift is made up of the lost and the disgraced, and those deemed strong or useful enough to work for the clan's unyielding leaders.
