I would support the idea of getting more items for the more dragons you have.
TOPIC | Gathering: /actual/ Leveling *6 YEARS...
Maybe as you level you should also increase the chance to gather again, AND the chance of the item you get being in a higher bracket?
Which would be...actually really good for the economy once the registation opens again.
Consider, Crafting. You're going to be needing a lot of, say, salt. But higher leveled people, while getting cooler stuff, would be getting less one star junk--like salt.
So the low level players would have something that the older players, who would have all the treasure, would want and need.

I think this is a wonderful idea. I too am getting frustrated at the lack of good items while I gather. I use most my turns to dig (as I have an abundance of food and few dragons), but find mostly junk. I support the idea that the levels should reward you instead of punish you because of a wider variety of objects to be had.

I hadn't sen this thread, but I posted something similar earlier. I believe that there should be an increasing minimum number of items to gather as your level increases. Cursory testing suggests that despite getting higher level foods, the overall number of food points (I'm primarily testing the food gathering) is not really improving.
It would be useful if a larger pool of people compiled some real statistics about what they are doing and what's being gathered.
For example, yesterday I Hunted (level 8) 3 times and got 36 food points worth of meat.
I fished (level 4) 2 times and got 31 food points.
Today I had to hunt exclusively, so I didn't get a comparison. But a larger sample of data could be used to demonstrate more conclusively whether or not there actually could be a flaw in the system.

This is how I think it could be improved:
There are ordinary items, and really valuable items. Right now, going up in level adds better items to both pools, but it can actually decrease the proportion of really valuable items.
The way to fix that is, instead of randomly choosing from a single pool of items when gathering, first randomly choose between a really valuable item and an ordinary item, then randomly choose an item within each pool. That way, the ratio can be controlled, with it being ensured that it only increases when you go up levels.

Yeah, I've noticed I don't find as many items or anything I want, I don't even find ores like Gold/silver/or platinum. I rarely find treasure chests let alone dragon eggs
I mostly find really common items, which I just sell because I have no use for them except in Crimms shop. :/

Totally Support - and more people should.
I just went looking for something like this today to figure out WHY at level 20, my scavenging is crap. At level 15 hunting I'm still getting food value 2 critters and sometimes ONLY those.
The current system makes no sense. So at higher levels, you're actually penalized because the total pool of items has no weight on the stuff that's actually worth something eh . . .? Well that makes sense and takes all of the fun out of gathering for me.

I breed double / triple green range dragons! Let me know what colors you're looking for, and I will let you know if I've any for sale or can breed them! I'm not on here a whole lot, so if you need to get ahold of me faster, I can be found on Pocket Puma Pets as Kami Mi Ke Neko #72 ^^
Performed another gathering test today, as I suggested I should if I wasn't too lazy.
Hunting (4 times at level 8, 1 time at level 9) yielded 87 total food
Fishing (4 times at level 4, 1 time at level 5) yielded 91 total food
I found 4 3-star meat and 3 3-star fish
I found 15 2-star meat and 11 2-star fish
I found 13 1-star meat and 23 1-star fish
Still too small a sample size to get very excited over, but it bears up the anecdotal evidence that has been supported here. It contributes to the notion that lower level gathering is -AT LEAST- as effective as higher level, if not moreso.
This is contrary to game design expectations
Edit: adding today's results
They are less favorable toward the notion that leveling isn't useful. This could be an indication that our evidence is exhibiting a negative bias, or it could be an indication that level 5 is a turning point. There is insufficient evidence to say which.
Hunting, level 9, 5 times. 84 food (18 1 star and 16 2 star finds..34 total items)
Fishing, level 5, 5 times. 67 food (32 1 star and 1 2 star find. 33 total items)

I'm only at Level 14 for digging and 13 for scavenging, which isn't nearly as high as most of the people here, but... I haven't found any silver since Level 6, gold since Level 7 or eggs since Level 5. Even if the larger item pools and resulting lower chances are deliberate, at this point, I'm willing to call it a straight-up bug. I mean, I can understand eggs remaining rare (I just put that there for reference's sake, really), but the ores should be more common by now, not way less.
EDIT: As an update, I'm now at Level 20 for both digging and scavenging, and I did find three eggs when I was at Level 16 and two silvers only a few days ago, but otherwise, that's it. Yep, I'm sticking with "Straight-up bug."
