King cheetah gene? Cheetah gene in general?
[/quote]
I would like to revive this suggestion of a cheetah or king cheetah primary, even if just for Gaolers. Would I love to see it on moderns as well as Gaolers? Absolutely.
However, the Gaoler's build is just superb as far as matching the build of a cheetah. So, I would love to see it on that breed if nothing else.

Maybe an Aapaloosa (a pattern generally seen on horses) gene? It should be fairly simple to implement, and I believe it should work across all the breeds. It could possibly be like paint, where the spots are white. There are plenty of examples online, but here are a few good pictures of the pattern I found:

Personally, I feel like we're a bit lacking with snake genes. Sure, we got Python and Viper, but why stop there? I would love to see something that resembles the Coral and/or Milk snakes' stripes. The additional colors can work like Poison and Skink.

I know that this isn't a snake, but a Gila Monster-themed gene would be awesome as well.

I'd like to revive a suggestion for Fawn Spotting being a gene? Has been suggested since 2013, and it could be so cuuute

Something that's the opposite of piebald; a largely black/dark gene where the primary color appears as markings. Think a
mali uromastyx or a
harlequin toad.

Would love to have flaunt/flair Veilspuns! It fits the sparkly/fairy theme they have really well.
And because Gaolers don't really have like, an "Gaoler-only" gene that changes up the colors since moderns got mosaic and breakup, maybe let them have an exclusive, color-changing gene again that mimics the coloration on certain herding dogs breeds? Like this, for example:

It could be a primary/secondary pair, with patches of colors and brindle patterns in the patches.
And speaking of brindle, another gene I've wanted for a while is a nice brindle pattern! No wild color changes here, just nice and subtle. Something that wouldn't clash with outfits or complex terts, but also not just be basic (perhaps with a little less contrast than tapir and striation, which I find a bit too busy sometimes because of the contrast in those... Brindle genes could also be a "vertical" pattern instead of tap/stri's horizontal, for some variety!) It would also be different than tiger because tiger is these really nice, sharp stripes, very bold and crisp. This would be more mottled and, again, subtle. I think it's nice to have lots of options :)

Still looking for a copy of Accent: Grand Romance!
:')
Idea: new gene, Bumble and Buzzy.
They add thick lines like bees have, but the accent color is every other stripe

Simple and Plain.
This might have already come up in some form but. there are So Many Pages to look through,, anyway.
Swaps the 'main' colour of the dragon's primary or secondary with the belly colour. It's pretty low-key but can be pretty striking and could be fun for playing around with different shades. Makes a good backdrop for busy terts/accents/apparel.
Some mockups, I wasn't quite able to get the shading colours quite right but these are just general ideas of what these genes might look like:
